Just an fyi... I was at the fishing and boat show in toronto and kastking was there with their demon rods, they wanted 185 bucks for 1 rod. I'm sorry but that seems like a bit much when i can get a zodias or champion for 20-30 bucks more...

The accurist PT has a different breaking system then the ACS system. Much more reliable.

I've tried, you cant sadly. I've talked to them multiple times and it's the same thing everytime, it's "in the works".

I have both, the zodias is a 6,10 med fast and the villain 2.0 is a 7,3 med by fast. The villain feels more like a heavy power rod but still light in the hands, the zodias has nice accents being red and black. I cant really compare the two together because they are two totally different rods size, power and action wise but if I had to choose I'd go with the villain because of the warranty.

Not much word on the new tat 150. Whats so special about it over the previous CT version? Interested in picking one up but if the CT is going to get cleared out I might just wait?

Did you spoil the line onto the reel properly? Use some line conditioner and let it sit for a half hour then try it out on the water. If that fails, maybe try a different line. Maybe braid? I use to have the same reel and fished it with only braid and it casted great.

So I find that through out the smoke line that quantum has made ( 3 generations) they have all excelled at throwing lures from 1/2oz and up with hardly any issue, but as soon as you start to creep into the lower range of the lure weights setting up the brakes become required more. The distance is there but you just have to really be paying attention to what you are throwing. It isn't hard to find the spot, it's just you'll be doing it frequently for max results. I loved the brakes from the last energy and accurist line. It's a shame they moved away from that.

My smoke s3 casts pretty well, further then my curado k. It doesnt have the fancy tension knob washer though. The brakes are fine but not my favourite. The feel of the reel is the biggest selling point in my opinion. Just feel right to me.

No I did not, but I checked out my local sail today and they had two rods. The tips were straight as an arrow. So I guess the local bass pro got some Rudolph droppings sent to them.

Went snooping around at the bass pro and noticed all the new ike rods, every one that I picked up had a tip that bent down anywhere from *** inches from the tip. Has anyone else noticed this? Or was it just the 5 that I picked up... I called 2 different employees over and they smirked shrugged their shoulders told me what rod I should be buying for that price and walked off. Pretty weird if you ask me!! I love Abu rods so it kinda sucks to see that.

I had luck with all the plastics and the jerkbait is to pretty to fish with. Bladed jig worked well and looked great, I didnt have much time on the water this past season so I didnt get to test the jigs out to their fullest but they look dang awesome. I think we should do this again soon! It was so much fun.

The smoke is a very solid reel with no flex, very nice handle and very user friendly, the abu looks really cool but I'm not going to drop 100+ on a reel just for looks.

I'm assuming your hard on your gear? Throwing stuff around? That would also explain the main shaft failure on one reel.
