I've got 2 other ones that are beaters, great reel for bank fishing and letting other people use. The scorpion is so nice man, it's a looker man. I think more people should check it out

I'm planning on using it for my lighter spinnerbaits. Just spooled it up with 30lb braid! It's so comfortable man I love the casitas, sad to see it go but glad I got one brand new on clearance.

I naturally reel as if a swamp monster is trying to steal my lures, so the slower gear ratio reels are optimal for my style of fishing.

Bass pro has these combos I saw last time I was there, price is great, they double as a lighter to!! I found it at the front beside the lady on cash. I'd recommend the fuego rod and reel or slx xt reel and slx rod

I love the feel of fluoro but after a few casts I always get cocky and nest it. I was thinking about braid with a long leader this season but I really want to keep it straight fluoro.

This is all awesome info guys! The reason for the gear swap was because I have yet to open up the E and just want to be ready for when I do. The side plates have some rash but nothing major, I couldn't find the parts list on shimanos website but I'll give them a call on monday and find out, as for the bearings I'm going to look into that, I've heard good things about those OEM bearings.

Picked up a few old E and G reels, was wondering if anyone has any knowledge on different/upgraded main gear and pinions that will fit from newer shimano reels. Also where I can get new side plates for the E series.

I was thinking about using 20lb yellow braid on my drop shot setup? I currently use green but man it's hard to see.

I love them, I make my own. My two latest ones, I made them on the bigger side so that it's more appetizing to pike as well.

I like the feel of the rod but I do not own one. I had the last gen, was built like a tank but my hands are to big for the grip on the rod.
