  1. This was the best thing I've read all day, I'm happy I helped. You can pick up your bill at the front desk. My girlfriend tells me I'm a great listener... I think
  2. I always liked the feel of the TCS helios reel, wanted to get one but again like what you encountered, not very many reviews on her and not really available unless I travel 2 hours away where I found it that one time.
  3. If a guy invented the rainbow, that's what it would have looked like
  4. Sexy lineup if I do say so myself
  5. I hope things work out for your buddies friend, cant imagine this happening to a close family member or a close friend. Praying it gets resolved soon.
  6. This one is great haha I hope your shoulder is doing better man!!
  7. Love the feel of the reel, super great choice for a first casting reel, you cannot go wrong. Plus Lew's customer service is TOP!
  8. I snagged a branch one time while fishing a little 3ft squarebill, was reeling in with a 7' med mod HMG rod and suddenly the lure stopped, I swept my rod and nothing, no fighting no pulling, though it was a big branch, my buddy started to laugh that I got snagged. Then after 5 seconds of wondering what I'm going to do, my line went for a sharp left and a musky jumped up and the fight was on. Caught a 10lb musky, startled my buddies cottage neighbors who's dock we were fishing off of but all in all that was a good catch. Usually it's a branch!
  9. Go for the Abu if that's what your comfortable with man, plus the SX looks sweet!
  10. I like using a trick worm because they do fall slower and stay in the strike zone longer, but I do find myself using a senko more often.
  11. I wouldnt sell any, they are awesome reels! Good choice man! I second everyone's advice on applications for each reel. Cant go wrong man.
  12. First thing I do it RIP the whole thing apart, deep clean everything. I soak the bearings, gear and pinion and worm gear in isopropyl alcohol for a day then oil, grease and back together she goes. I try and replace the drag washers at this time if they look worn aswell as any bearings.
  13. Wow that blows, did they charge you for it? Their customer service is top from the numerous times I've called them so I'm sure they can take care of that for you.
  14. So you just got the reel back from shimano eh? I'm surprised they didnt suggest replacing the bearings of they were bad. I have heard that they dont do the most thorough job ever...
  15. Do the reels see a lot of use? Couldn't hurt to open up and lube up the bearings, the bearing on the side plate where the brake drum is is the easiest to get to, then the pinion bearing on the other side and the one behind the tension knob cap.
  16. Okay so i checked again, are you saying the frame is smaller then the curado k? Because I just took my caliper to the front and sides of both reels which I own and the reels are exactly the same, I swapped both spools, scorpion mgl and curado k and they worked perfectly. I took pictures. I'd be glad to take both reels apart and swap side plates if that helps.
  17. I'm pretty sure the scorpion is the exact same frame as the curado k, seeing how it's just the JDM version but with an mgl spool and beauty paint job to start. Frame wise as far as I know it's the same.
  18. Just going to leave this here
  19. Fenwick HMG is my go to, love them!
  20. I know this one, it’s the Same thing my dog did, you gotta rub it’s belly, they LOVE that!
  21. Trailer hooks work well for spinnerbaits and buzzzzzzzbaits
  22. I've heard of the spool shaft bending on really bad nests or when the clutch engages mid cast. If you can get the spool out try and inspect the shaft.
  23. That line up... Hits me right in the feels. It's so beautiful.
