Do you retie after every catch?
Nope! But i do always check the line, especially after snags or thooty creatures. If i do find any wearing in the line then i retie.

Original Shad Rap - Favorite ways to use them?
The Shad raps are a staple in my tackle box, i use all of is sizes. The smaller 05 to 07 sizes i trow them on spinning gear mostly, medium or medium light rod, 8lb mono. However the ones i use the most are the bigger sizes, 09 and 14 (super shad rap), the 09´s i use my medium heavy crankbait rod with 10lb fluorocarbon and the 14´s i trow them on my smaller swimbait rod (E6X 884 SWB) with 12lb Big game. I use them almost always when the water is colder, from mid fall untill early Spring, for the warmer months i prefer something with a more wide wobble. The Super shad raps i use them mainly for pike but i´ve landed quit a few bass on them plus tons of followers. Collors wise i use mostly the natural shads and perch patterns in the smaller sizes for bass, for pike i also use the more artificial patterns like fire tiger and hot perch for exemple. It´s quit a funny coincidence because i just placed one order for a bunch of the bigger 09 and 14 size ones last Friday, was running a bit low on them...

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
They´re awsome! However, i´m not sure if they have the line thru concept, if they have it´s a recente thing. The ones that i bought have a jig head and a stinger on the small versions: And a built in jig head and bottom treble on the bigger versions: But don´t let that stop you from trying one, i´ve bought them inicially for pike and wels catfish but soon discovered that bass really like them to! Another one that i recomend you to try (if you did´nt do it allready) is the 3D trout: I also bought this ones in the biginning with pikes, Wels and zanders in my mind but soon realized that they are a very good bass bait, i´ve caught a bunch of them on the 5", 7" and 8" sizes, no ones on the bigger 11" but i don´t have bass in the sizes you guys have.

Your favorite fishing photo?
I absolutely love these three: This one all the credits go to my Mrs who was in the shore waiting for us. This one was taken by me at the end of a carpfishing session. And finally this one was probably the most beautiful sunrise that i haver seen in my home lake with the pink sky and mist in the water...

Why on earth would anyone spend $400 on a bass rod?
Why on earth would anyone spend $1000 on a Iphone? See what i did there? Different people have different tastes, and everyone values things in a different way. I do not fish for food, i fish cause it gives me pleasure, not only the act of catching the fish itself but all that it´s related to fishing... including the gear! -Does a $100 rod/reel do pretty much the same thing and catches the same fish as a $400 one? Absolutely! -Is it the same amount of fun? Nooooooooooo..... Higher end gear is, above all other things, that... super fun to fish with!

durability of Daiwa Lexa 300 and 400
Well... if you don´t use them you don´t need to be concerned about their durability! Now on a more serious note... i´m a Shimano guy myself (although not fanboy at all) and i do have one Lexa 300 (7.1:1) since the time they came out, and it´s been one great reel! I use it for big baits only and it handles them with ease and as held up really well, if you´re really determined on switch to Shimano go for it... but you will be missing on some very nice reels.

Slower Gear Ratio = Better Bass Fishing
With the passing of the years i have found myself gravitating towards the two oposite sides of the spectrum! For all the baits that i work/retrieve with the reel i really like a slow ratio/low ipt reel because i have a natural tendencie for speeding my retrieve to much, so, a slow reel helps me keeping my pace. For the baits that i work/retrieve with the rod i really like super fast ratios because the reel is only there to pick up the line and retrieve the fish, and for that a fast reel makes all sense to me. Due to this, despite everyone saying that a 6.1 reel is the most all around suited ratio, and i agree with that, only one of my reels is a 6.1, all the other are 5.1´s or even slower or 7.1´s or even faster. This may not be the most correct way of doing things butt it works for me, and, at the end of the day... thats all that matters!
