  1. It is shiny but you can still see the carbon. Hard to really see in the pics, but it has that dusty/cloudy look to it. It's not like a dark/jet black.
  2. Oh yes, when I'm initially spooling I'll give squirts here and there..
  3. Definitely on fluoro. Ideally I'll spray some on the night before I got out.
  4. Senko. Easily.
  5. I was racking my brain trying to figure out what 'Gettin Gold' meant. 😄
  6. Are you talking about the EVO? He's saying the Baby Jack has a 3/0, which is correct according to TW.
  7. I'm glad my post that I took time on to help a fellow board member, adding pic/links was reviewed and not posted. What is happening?
  8. It's an absolute shame Rapala/VMC decided to do away with their hard bait line. They were phenomenal. And they came with excellent hooks. They looked/fished like lures that cost twice as much.
  9. That first Concept C with the pearl finish and cork knobs...most under-rated reel ever. Mines still going strong after years of abuse. Wish I had bought more.
  10. I'm getting one for my Keitech's!
  11. I have the current Extreme HP (DX745). The Okuma X-Series I have are the 7'3 MH/XF and 7'6 H/F. I have more time on the water with the Dobyns. I got the Okuma's towards the end of summer last year. I would definitely put them up there with the Extreme as far as sensitivity. Fishing jigs, I can feel every little pebble. They are very crisp. And like @Bluebasser86 said, they're very light. Way lighter than the Extreme (5.09 oz). Tho we all know how well Dobyns rods balance. The 7'3 MH weighs only 4.05 oz. The 7'6 H weighs only 4.37 oz. Crazy. For comparison, my 7'2 MH Expride B weighs 4.28 oz. 7'1 MH Helium, 4.11 oz. And to top it off they are GORGOUS rods. Fit and finish are A-1.
  12. What about thickness across the back? Is the Slim skinnier there as well, or did it just lose the beer belly?
  13. Are you sure you're not talking about the new EVO MiniMax? I'll still throw them on same rods I throw the regular size bladed jigs. Unless I'm throwing 1/4oz, then maybe I'll go down to a a M+ Poison Adrena. But not necessary. A 3/8 oz or 1/2 oz MiniMax with a trailer is still plenty heavy to throw on your regular bladed jig rod. You can still feel the blade, it's just tighter/more subdued.
  14. Another good MiniMax option I like is the Missile Baits Mini D Chunk (rigged horizontally). Yo-yoed off the bottom in the springtime has been very productive.
  15. I have both and I'd easily put the X-Series up against my Extreme.
  16. There's also a new Yamamoto Slim Zako 3.5" that I bet would look great on the back of the MiniMax.
  17. Yup. And it shows the Baby Jack is the same $15.99 as the full-size Jackhammer. I don't see sales being that great with the cheaper MiniMax EVO available.
  18. Jackhammer and Baby Jack costs the same amount?
  19. One I have paired up with a 6'10 MH rod I use for jigs/swim jigs in close quarters/docks. Another I have paired on my primary Fluke rod. One of my bladed jig rods has an 80 on it. Another on my squarebill/DT6 rod. And another on topwater rod. Honestly, it can do pretty much everything. I wouldn't use it for punching or frogging, but that's just me. And if I wanna bomb deep diving cranks I'd go with the 100. But this reel bombs baits plenty far, and I love how it feels in hand.
  20. I have a few of the new 100's and a few of the previous version (with the red accents on the clutch bar). To me, the previous version sits more comfortably in my hand. The new 100 sits higher on the reel seat. But that's just me. The new model obviously has it's improvements over the last version. Really solid reel. I also have a handful of the 80's, which I love more than the 100's. The 100 obviously has more line capacity, if that's important to you. What do you plan on using it for?
  21. Black and blue is always true. People usually just throw that color in stained/murky water, which makes sense. But don't sleep on it in clear water. I've had some amazing days pitching/dragging black/blue jigs in gin-clear water.
  22. I believe you're right. Go on their site now and this color is sold out. Lol.
  23. I guarantee you @bulldog1935 is a member there.
  24. Just fishing tackle stuff. From the fisherman, for the fisherman. Picture a centerfold of a Jackhammer sprawled out, with a beautiful Zako trailer. That's enough to get any fisherman's blood pumping. It'll be called, OnlyFins.
