Yeah, it's an awesome setup! I fished it for a while the other day, sweet! Young people have to much money these days! Here's the reel: http://www.japantackle.com/Daiwa_reels/Daiwa_Monoblock.htm
  4. One of my favorite lipless cranks! 8-) I catch bass but also zander with it. I prefer the silent type, since I mostly fish clear water.

Zander don't put up much of a fight. Once they're hooked they shake their head a bit but you can reel them in like a stick. They don't jump like bass. Quite boring fish to catch. The pike put a very good fight, caught it on a imakatsu javallon hard (which someone stole out of the boat later >).

The bass seem to have lockjaw. We saw quite a few in the shallows but they just don't bite. We only managed to catch 1 bass. Also caught a few zander and pretty big pike.

Rapala has the color listed but on ebay you can hardly find any x- raps in this color. http://www.rapala.com/products/luresdetail.cfm?modelName=x-rap_sureset&freshorsalt=Fresh Don't you have that color in any stores in the US?

I would definitely try the 10 and 12. You will still catch small fish with these baits. I regularly catch 1-3lb. bass with 5-7" hardbaits, especially in summer. The 12 is only 4.75" long which I consider small. The MBS color I think will be great in clear water. The water around here is pretty clear all year, especially in spring, that's why I prefer natural colors.

Found one X-Rap 10 in MBS on ebay. This color seems to be difficult to find.
  12. Why not just use the X-Rap deep? http://www.rapala.com/products/luresdetail.cfm?modelName=x-rap_deep&freshorsalt=Fresh
  13. I'm pretty sure it's a spawned out female. She seems to have some wounds. I'm pretty sure that florida strain bass males could get up to 5.5lbs. but that's pretty rare. We only have northern strain bass around here and the biggest male I have seen guarding a nest was about 3.5lbs.
