  1. I watch bits of most of the channels listed above. Really like BassResource and YourLakeForkGuide for their detail about lures and presentations. Fishthemoment is very good too. I know his squad isn't too popular around here but not gonna act like I don't still watch Lake Fork Guy too.
  2. I use them fairly often for UV Speed Craws and 4" Dingers. Sometimes 3/0 is just a little too much.
  3. No reason to be talking about the little buzz baits....
  4. I caught my PB largemouth on a red craw pattern Super Spot. It was less than $3. I've used and abused more than a few Spots and they do just fine. Stock hooks have done ok for me but I replace them after they get some use. I'd personally stick with the Super Spots over the Ozark Trail lipless but for $2 not a major loss either way.
  5. His MLF wins were Cup and Select events a few years back. Before they added the BPT.
  6. Those look pretty cool. Make sure to add a photo later of them hanging out of the mouth of a toothy beast!
  7. I wonder if his KVD line of Lews reels will have their Winn grips or the oversized paddle grips like the LFS, etc. I can't bring myself to totally like either.
  8. To not put the 15 lbs I just lost back on... Fishing wise, get all my usual winter tasks like cleaning reels done BEFORE the ice thaws. Work got in the way last year and set me back on some tasks for Spring. Also need to clean up my kayak fish finder wiring/ battery box set up.
  9. Maybe retrieving it too fast? I've found most buzzbaits I use have a speed ranhe where they'll run straight up and down. The max speed of that range is usually fairly slow.
  10. I use 3/8 oz pretty much exclusively and use them mostly in that depth range and a little deeper.
  11. If you're up for a challenge you could attempt to replace broken bills. Will be easier on some baits than others. Lure part stores like Janns Netcraft and Lure Parts Online amongst others have bills of various shapes and materials, including metal. I have a few Bomber Square As that I've broken bills on by smacking them off rocks and bridge pilings on a cast. Been hanging onto them thinking one day I'll give replacing the bills a shot.
  12. I have the 7-4 Browser Casting rod. I've been using it for moving baits and I really like it for that application. The foam on the blank is different but hasn't bothered me any.

I run into this fairly often in a shallow flat near a cove on my usual lake. Particularly in the evenings the shad really pile up in big pods back there. When the bass are smashing it's been tough to get them to bite a lure. What has worked best for me is tossing a weightless stick work in and around the bait pods and just letting it fall straight down through them. I'll lift and drop a couple times and cast to another spot or another pod. It seems agonizingly slow when the bass are really active in the area but it's worked well for me on a few different occasions.
  14. This is exactly what someone's wife would say...haha I don't think I go crazy with lures but I have way more than enough to survive a season or 3. I look at collecting lures as just an extension of the sport/hobby. Sort of like collecting baseball cards.
  15. Thanks @deep. As a fellow kayaker and someone whose been on the struggle bus with frogs this is helpful. One question I have is how or what angle are you holding the rod to walk the frogs? This has been maybe the hardest part for me. Haven't found a method that clicks.
  16. BPS Carbonlite series of this gen and previous gen are white or whitish at least. I see those all the time on MLF reruns. Pretty sure Edwin Evers and Ott Defoe at least use or used those. Maybe Bobby Lane did at one point too.
  17. I've had better luck adding a small-ish trailer onto my spinnerbaits so I'm sticking with that. This year my favorites were the 3.5" Yum Pulse and 4" Yum Swimmin Dinger.

Very cool! Sometimes you just gotta listen to where you're being led!
  19. I'm partial to the Zoom UV Speed Craw but it looks like a smaller profile than the Rage Craw and maybe a little less kick.
  20. I think it may be the norm. I've ordered 3 from them in the past. All were in a fairly weak box. I believe the first two had packing paper around them at least. Last rod I received was literally just bouncing around in the box, only other thing in there besides the rod was the order receipt and return label. All 3 rods were in perfect condition by some miracle. All were good deals so I'm sure I'll order another from them at some point. Especially if they keep having Falcon Lowriders for $100 or less.
  21. I checked one out at Field and Stream a little while back purely out of curiosity. Felt like a solid rod, especially for the price.
  22. Currently I've been trying out the Berkley Half Head and the Eagle Claw Pro-V finnesse head. Both have worked reasonably well for me. Both have pretty good hooks and keepers. The Eagle Claw keeper holds TRDs really well. I have to say though that I lost less fish using Double Cross crappie jig heads in past years.
  23. KVD Tour Cranking Rod is $99.97 on Dick's Sporting Goods site still. Plus I think the $20 off a $100 order is still good today. I don't own one but I've heard good things. Plus, if it works for KVD...
  24. I like the War Eagle Heavy Finesse jig and the Santone Texas Finesse jig. They seem very similar and both come in 2 packs. The Santone jig is available as light as 3/16 oz. Molix makes a quality jig in a smaller profile but don't think they have as stout of a hook as the first 2 I mentioned though.
