Waveinn
I don't know a thing about them. There's a Waveinn that's part of Tradeinn, but they're in northeastern Spain. It's a huge outfit. I have a sister-in-law who has lived in Valencia for 40-some years, but it's 250 miles away down the coast. www.tradeinn.com/en/about-us/st I know every company gets some complaints, but most companies don't get zeros and ones. www.sitejabber.com/reviews/tradeinn.com

Daiwa Zillion SV TW G vs Steez SV TW
If you like really nice reels, get the Steez. It balances very nicely on a 3.8-ounce 843C Conquest. And on an 844C. And I can fish a 22-ounce Daiwa spinning reel on an 11' rod all day while getting battered by the breakers and the wind on Hatteras Island. It's a nicely balanced outfit, too.

Poll: Best high-end casting rod rankings.!
I ordered a Conquest 783C to see how it fished. Then I ordered a Conquest 843C. Then I ordered a Conquest 844C. Then I ordered another one. And an 843S. They suit me perfectly and I have no desire to change anything. If there's a better rod out there I don't need whatever it's offering. I'm kind of sad, I barely look at bass rods anymore.

The pros dont know much more than we do
The pros may not know much more, but that's usually enough. After all, a .250 hitter is just so-so average, while a .300 hitter is probably in the Hall of Fame.

No Fast Track
"Many of us learned on non magnetic reels, glass rods and hooks that weren't chemically sharpened." Some of us learned on metal casting rods with a cork handle. I don't miss them for a minute.

i read a report Toyota is developing a hitchless trailer!!
Can they make it work in reverse? Can I back my boat trailer into the water and never get me or my truck tires wet? And then pull the trailer out and park it?

Smith Mountain Lake VA?
I'd give you advice, but every time I make the trip from Richmond I fish for rockfish/stripers/striped bass.

Solo launch - no dock
I bought mine before global warming. You know, back when the rivers used to freeze up in central and southern Virginia.

Solo launch - no dock
Chest waders are more of a hassle to put on, but not much more money than hip boots. They are very useful when the wind really kicks up and the boat just doesn't want to go on the trailer. Mine are insulated because I bought them years ago for duck hunting.

Mississippi river
Killing game outright - and quickly - for consumption is humane. Fwiw, I'm on the borderline of humane when I'm bird hunting with a 28 ga.

Mississippi river
Like a football against his body? Until somebody comes up with some good evidence that manhandling a live fish is good for it, I think I'll pass on carpet bouncing, bear hugs and tossing fish back into the water.

"...is bear hugging smallmouth..." Doesn't he know how to lip them?

Mississippi river
Thanks, I didn't watch enough to tell what was going on. The first fish I saw got bounced 3 times on the carpet. The next fish I saw got pinned between the angler's arm and his body. I went outside and put a coat of teak oil on a shower bench for my wife.

Weekends vs Weekdays - High Pressured Lakes
I/we are retired and don't do weekends. Ever feel sorry for old retired folks out doing yard work on the weekend while you are living it up? Don't, we're avoiding you. The guy who taught me to fish for largemouth 30 or 40 years ago got talked into going to a state park last Saturday. It was crowded, and the ramp was littered with kayaks just sitting there while the owners got dressed and prepped, but overall he said it wasn't too bad. (We went Thursday and there were 4 kayaks in one group that left at 9 a.m. and a total of 4 boats during the 8 hours we were there.) After they made the all-electric run to the sparsely crowded far end it turned into amateur hour. The way he described it, a 300-pound guy in a little kayak got excited about something and turned it over - and couldn't get to shore. And his 3 friends weren't helping much. So two 65-year-olds in a 14' tinny with nice Millennium seats went to fish him out. Somehow these 2 200-pounders got the guy up and over the transom, but they had to spent 20 minutes gathering up the only rod that didn't sink - it had a bobber on the line - and the cooler and lid and some tackle boxes that were floating somehow and all the usual junk, but the things that took most time were the empty beer cans being scattered by the wind.

Low Usage
I fished from 7 until 3 yesterday, but neither trolling motor has an hour meter on it. The boat has had a lot of use since 2014, but the 9.9 Merc only leaves the garage for reservoir fishing a few times a year.

Cost for a days fishing trip/ freshwater
I went bass fishing once not too long ago and my wife called a contractor in to work up two complete bathroom tear outs - subfloor, new plumbing, bunch of wiring, new everything, custom this that and the other, etc. Nothing too drastic, just trash one large tub and one small shower, put a large shower where the tub was and a linen closet where the shower was. And put new shelving and carpet in her smallish walk-in closet in the bathroom, etc. That was one expensive fishing trip. They both look great. So would have a new, rigged, mid-level bass boat with a 200 on it.

- trailer tires
" The golden rule of trailer tires is to buy a tire that is going to be replaced in 4 to 5 years," I always have, but that assumes I get a new tire or one made in the last 6 months or so. I recently bought 3 5.30-12" wheel/tire combos online from my usual well known vendor. I went with a radial this time due to increased time spent on I-95 and I-64. This tire is tested to 81 mph and has an M rating fwiw. They sent me 3 tires made in January of 2021. I sent them a note of disappointment and got a canned answer about how tires are good for a long time and the manufacturer (in China) says they're good to go, etc. I'd been trying to buy them since 12/2020 but they've been out of stock and the vendor recently cancelled my standing order. Oh, and the ones I got cost more. Gee, imagine that. I always run the full 80 psi stated on the sidewall.- Can Somebody Clue Me In???
Looks like a generic fuel filter for a small engine. The CE mark means it can be legally sold in the countries of the European Union. And they must be installed in the correct direction. They come in different micron ratings, so check your manual or use West Marine's part finder or something similar. I have them on a John Deere riding mower and a Toro ztr. The motor makers - Kawasaki and Kohler - spec certain flow rates and right now I can't tell you how many microns they are. Here's the blurb for one filter at West Marine. www.westmarine.com/buy/sierra--18-7712-inline-fuel-filter--10505089?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3OnVk7r4-AIVNv_jBx1_YAIiEAkYCCABEgJPn_D_BwE "Compatible with many 1999 and newer 4hp and 5 hp 2-cycle outboards and 1999 or new 4hp, 5hp and 6hp 4-stroke outboards Compatible with many 2005 and new 8hp and 9.9hp 4-stroke outboards and 2008 and newer 15hp and 20hp 4-stroke outboards See our Engine Parts Selector to confirm this filter is right (or to find the correct one)"- Measuring board storage
I have enough stuff to trip over already. www.harborfreight.com/40-in-aluminum-ruler-69366.html 48" aluminum ruler for $4.99. I screwed it to the carpeted rear deck on my 1648 jon boat 5 or 6 years ago. I think I may put a 36" on the front deck. The world record chain pickerel was 36" long and 11# iirc. Be prepared.- TW/Toyota Stop 5 - Major League Fishing donated more than 300 pounds of catfish meat
They put on a pretty good show, too. "RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Major League Fishing donated more than 300 pounds of catfish meat to the Beacon Hill Church and Hunters for the Hungry – Virginia. This past weekend, the league held the Tackle Warehouse pro Circuit Toyota Stop 5 on the James River event. After the event concluded on Sunday, the 300 plus pounds of catfish in the Kid’s Fishing Tanks was donated to Hunters for the Hungry – Virginia, in partnership with Hopewell’s Beacon Hill Church."- Tackle warehouse scam
"As I said before many of us have been solid TW customers for years and I still wear one of their t shirts at least once a week lol." I wear one 4 or 5 days a week - I retired in 2012 - and have at least 6 more new ones that have never been unfolded. Week before last I only wore one a single day because when we're on Ocracoke Island for a week or so I wear Tradewinds Tackle shirts or the Working Watermen's Association shirts from their seafood shop.- Tackle warehouse scam
Posted December 28, 2021 - "I don't think it will be too long before we get a more thorough explanation and response from TW." Did anyone ever get a more thorough explanation and response? I know they never sent me a follow-up or apology for the poor way they handled the entire episode. - trailer tires
