  1. I know a lot of pros switched tours for different reasons. Is there a good, comprehensive article/video out there laaying put who went where and why?
  2. Give Mike at Sieberts a try! Awesome jigs, quality of workmanship, skirt and hook!
  3. Boomerang worked fine for a bit but got dull quick and I have got to hold the line with a lot of tension to get it to cut. Hardly ever a clean cut. Anyone tried those Cuda's?
  4. The only difference I've found is the the blade starts "vibrating" slower than something like the Z-Man but if you gove it a little jerk once your ready for the retrieve you are good to go. A little more economical and MUCH higher quality workmanship and hook. Give Mike a try!
  5. I know BPS is having a sale for the Classic starting 2/15 do other online stores like TW traditionally have one too?
  6. This off season I have really branched out and bought a bunch of new types of baits, but now I am stuck with the problem of storing it all and taking it with me to fish! Been racking my brain trying to figure out what would be best. If I had a large dedicated fishing boat of my own I am sure I would just organize them in some sort trays and be done with it. But because I may be fishing out of my boat or a friends or walking to ponds I will have to utilize a traditional tackle box or the fishing back pack I got. One way or the other I will need to buy some storage trays and I was looking at some of the Flambeau water proof boxes but some of the old posts I read on here made sense talking about water proof boxes NOT being the way to go. I could see the need for one if I am specifically trying to keep items from getting wet. But more often than not I would imagine the biggest problem would be me using a bait and then throwing it in a box still wet to get something else on and back to fishing. I would imagine that item rusting or others as well being more or a problem. Looks like Plano has a few items that promote air flow, does Flambeau as well? Is something like this a better idea in regards to storage?
  7. I soooooo much wish I had the talent and the mental capacity to do something like this for myself. Just not in my wheel house.
  8. On this model I assume you thread your line through the metal coil and drop it down, correct? There is not slit in the yellow "triangle" that you also run it through, correct?
  9. Yeah I got one this off season. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but I am surprised how "whippy" it seems to be. Bought it for 1/2 oz lipless (along with square bills and 3 XDs) and I hope it's not over powered by it.
  10. A few months ago I scoured the internet high and low and this specific one cannot be found anywhere. I have thought about doing the retractable dog leach option but most I have seen top out at a 16" leach.
  11. I was initially thinking about that very model. May still go that route. Just wanted to see what option I would choose if I went with the "other style" of lure retriever.
  12. I am envisioning needing something that goes deeper than 15 feet.
  13. I have have searched a lot of old posts on here talking about lure retrievers and what types people like. One I was looking at was the Lews David Fritts Get'R Back Lure Retriever but I did not see anyone really mention it. Is that because it is not very effective or just not many people try it before?
  14. Seems like a lot of the old heads you talk to talk about hoe effective pork trailers and such can be and how no one really makes them anymore. Why exact is that? Is it an issue with production, storage issues or something else? Just curious.
  15. You fish these off bait casting gear or spinning? And why to whichever answer you give?
  16. 2/15. But these baits are already marked down to $2.97 so I bought 3 tonight.
  17. The upcoming BPS sale shows they are going to greatly reduce the price on their Bass Pro Shops XPS Lazer Blade baits so I am going to give them a try. Searched the forums here and sounded like people had a lot of different opinions about now only what hook types to use but also how many to use. Sound like the traditional 2 treble hook set up gives people fits between either getting hooked on stuff on the bottom of getting the line wrapped in them while pulling them up and dropping them back down. Should I start with the hooks as they come out of the box and wait to see if I have a problem? Or are there changes your guys experiences would tell me to implement from the start?
  18. If I had the money I'd jump at it. Seems like a great buy for the money!
  19. Mike has already set me straight, I will be ordering soon.
  20. Yeah I went to about 5 or 6 of them around town. Very surprising how much variance there is from store to store as to what they don't have. Did you go to the one by the Legends or something?
  21. Most of the local Walmarts have 832 Sufix braid 150 yards in clearance for 11 bucks aand Strike King sexy shad 5XDs on sale for $4.50
  22. OK. Our of curiosity why did you remove the treble hook in favor of that style on this bait?
  23. Assuming you use under 5 feet of leader you are touting this as the way to go not for visibility concerns but for "saving" 5 feet of braid LOL?
  24. Certainly makes sense. What size spilt ring and swivel would you recommend for me to grad? Again it is a 3/4 oz spoon.
  25. I was sort of looking at these two options: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamamoto-Weedless-Hula-Grub-Jig-Head-Owner-Hook-3pk-Pick/112510090725?hash=item1a321fbde5:m:mFV6oCMBC3iluyIl113IheQ https://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamamoto-Weedless-Flippin-Jig-Head-Gamakatsu-Hook-2pk-Pick/112853978531?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D55992%26meid%3Dc7b390eb66714ae99cb8dc2185769a1f%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D112510090725%26itm%3D112853978531&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 Looks like the first one is just a standard jig head and the other is labeled more of a flipping head. Should I go with more of an Arky style head? If I go with one of these jog style setups which is the right size for the 5" model? Would something more like a stand up shaky head be a better option?
