How to get my spinnerbait trailer hook free swinging?
Bought some 2/0 trailer hooks for spinnerbaits and the plastic tubing that comes with it is the kind that hold the trailer hook in place. I want the type that will allow that hook to be free swinging. Can I buy a sort of keeper like that? Who sells trailer hooks that work like this right out of the pack?

Ideal action/taper for a jig/pitch rod
That's what you do when it is winter time and a sale ends tomorrow and you want to make the correct buy before it ends LOL

What is the difference between "action" and "taper"?
That's sort of what I am doing. Looking for a jig/frog rod and would like to go with the Dobyns Sierra 735C because it is on a great sale on TW. Problem is it is an extra fast and I am not sure I want that. I think that might be fine for a hollow body frog but maybe not so much for a jig. Budget does not allow me to get two separate rods for these presentations.

Ideal action/taper for a jig/pitch rod
Just was reading some old posts on here and it got me thinking. It looks like most all rods made with jig and soft plastic pitching in mind have are a fast or even extra fast. It seems to me a more moderate action would be better for this. Am I wrong in thinking that? Does anyone even make a moderate with jig fishing in mind?

It seems like all jig rods are fast or extra fast. I am starting to agree that moderate might be better. Does anyone even make jig rods with that action?

What size guides to get on a jig/frog rod?
Well I was kind of set on the micros from what all I read but now I am not so sure. I am trying to take advantage of the TW sale on the Dobyn's Sierra line. I am looking at the Dobyns SA 735C (regular guides) or the Dobyns SSM 735C (micro guides) and from what I can tell the ONLY difference is the types of guides? It has an extra fast tip and I am fine with that for frogging. Just not sure if I want that for a jog rod. Want a bit of a more moderate bend I would guess. Just confused, have to decide by tomorrow at 5 PM PT!

What size guides to get on a jig/frog rod?
Is that just an irrantant or can damage the eyelet? I'm thinking more of when I'd be frogging in slop.

What size guides to get on a jig/frog rod?
Looking at possibly buying a Dobyns Sierra rod with that great sale on TW right now. Looking at the 7'3" model (735C) for jigs and hollow body frogs. They make two models the exact same but one has regular guides and the other the micros. I would never use anything but straight 40-65# braid on it (no leader for these fishing applications) and don't know which way to go. Talking to a guy at Bass Pro tonight he said braid is notorious eating up micro guides, if that is true. Anyway, which way should I go?

Dobyns Fury / Rod power question
Will probably try it here in a bit. I forget the normal TW promos. Isn't it like free shipping if over $50 purchase? Doesn't something happen at over $150?

Dobyns Fury / Rod power question
So the steps are purchase the gift card (they take PayPal, don't they?) then fill your cart then apply the gift card and automatically get 10% off? Even on the 25 Days promo items?

Dobyns Fury / Rod power question
If you buy the gift card and get the 10% off can you use it for yourself or have to buy it and someone else has to be the one to spend it?

If all are available do the guides matter in this situation? Normally I like a split grip but never having a jig/frog rod is there an reason I should go with the full cork instead?

Is the Sierra 735 made in both the micro and regular guides? If so if I'd be flipping soft plastics and jigs, frogging and swim baits with it (probably on straight braid) which would I want? Does it come with both choices of a split and regular handle?

Isn't this sale about to come to an end? I hadn't looked at the Sierra line yet, is THAT the obvious model choice in that line for what I'm talking about? Isn't this sale about to come to an end? Spinner bait trailer recommendation?
Love the Keitechs, it just seemed they were so soft after some strong casts from me it was getting torn up and not staying on very well. Maybe it's just me.

Spinner bait trailer recommendation?
Anyone got a trailer they like to use with spinner baits? I've got 1/2 oz spinner baits that I'm looking to beef up the profile of the bait but not use something so big it messes with the balance or movement of the bait.

Dobyns Fury / Rod power question
Everything I've read on here has said that when I comes to the power of the rod that Dobyns runs a little light compared to other brands.

Looking for a rod to jig and hollow body frog with
Looking for a rod that could handle both jig fishing and hollow body topwater frogs and need a recommendation. I just ordered the Dobyns Fury 705CB rod. It hasn't arrive yet so I probably would try it out a bit but if I may be looking at another Dobyns. Due to my budget I probably would stay with the Fury line. If I did would the 735C be the one to go with? Obviously it is a 7'3" and I was thinking of something maybe a bit longer like a 7'6" but I guess this would work fine. Got something else I should look at?

Budget-minded 5 speed crank reel suggestions?
I meant like a 5:3 or 5:4 or 5:1, whatever. To both of your points I have not experience with this kind of fishing and thought for baits that big I should go with a 5 versus a 6. If I am wrong please let me know. Just looking for like a $80 and below option.

Budget-minded 5 speed crank reel suggestions?
Looking to getting into doing some crank bait fishing this year at some local lakes. Probably some 5XDs and 6XDs, probably nothing as big as a 10XD but I guess I would like a reel that could handle something as beefy as that. Looking for a budget 5 speed crank reel suggestions. I've heard that some of the Abu Garcia Orra Winch models are pretty good bang for the buck. Be it that or something else got anything you recommend? If it matters I have a 7'6" Lews David Fritts glass crank rod and I will probably pair it up with 12lb Seaguar Invizx fluoro.

Slow rolling spinnerbaits late winter / prespawn
I've been looking for a good, white spinnerbait with a single Colorado blade but War Eagle doesn't seem to make one. Booyah is about the only one I've seen. Gold or silver a better blade color option?

Thought I knew what crank rod, now my budget has been increased
Well I went against my original thought of getting a glass rod and ended up using a Cabelas gift card I had and got the Dobyns Fury 705CB so many people pointed me towards. Didn't get to handle one before I bought but so many people can't be wrong, right?
