When to use mono for LMB fishing???
Last few 10-15 years I kind of thought mono was "old tech" and really wasn't ideal for any particular presentation when fishing for LMB. With other types of lines I kind of feel I know the benefits/pluses of braid or fluro but can't figure out when mono would be the way to go. Not as strong or durable as braid, not near the sensitivity or braid or fluro and it seems like the only thing if it stretches more and I am not really sure what presentations that features would be ideal for. Single hook lures versus treble hook ones? Does it depend if I am using a softer or firmer rod? What is the "advantage" or ideal presentation for mono then really? I assume it has a place (other than being cheap) but I do not know what it would be. Who can enlighten me?

Never used fluoro - need a recommendation
Well Tom, for what I'm looking to do with this specific rod/reel what would you suggest using?

Never used fluoro - need a recommendation
Yeah I don't know much about copolymer lines. What is the main benefit of them and it's best use?

Strike King Hack Attack Pad Perch OR Popping Perch?
Been checking out these two top water baits, look like they would be fun to play around with. While they have a few small differences between them they look pretty similar. Just wanted to see if anyone has tried either, have a preference or have a color pattern they recommend?

Never used fluoro - need a recommendation
Well for what I am going to be fishing with this rod/reel should I stick with braid? I am a big fan of the 832 sufix and usually go with the 40lb variety. Since I will be throwing a lot of small/medium cranks and such I thought giving fluoro a try might be the way to go. From what I said I would be using it for what is the way to go?

Fluke newbie wanting advice
I wonder why he would rig them this way then. Will have to play with it I guess. Is this a decent colder water presentation or too much action and should only be tried when it is warmer and fish are more aggressive?

I doubt it matters but I probably should have mention I went with the medium action rod. Probably won't change recommendations but I should have mentioned it.

Never used fluoro - need a recommendation
I've got a new rod setup and I think I want to try fluoro on it but having NEVER used fluoro I'd like a make and model recommendation to try. I wanted a rod/reel to throw primarily crankbaits from square bills to 3XD's. But from time to time chatter baits and 1/2 oz spinner baits and such. I went with a 7' Lews David Fritts glass crank rod and I am pairing it up with a 6:3 Daiwa Fuego CT reel. I am thinking maybe 10 or 12 pound fluoro maybe? What brand and model should I go with and all that? TIA

Fluke newbie wanting advice
Bought a pack of Super Flukes today. Gonna try them with a 4/0 EWG to start. Do you rig them up with the "belly bump" facing up or down? I would have thought down but I just saw a YouTube video where Casey Ashley talked about rigging it where it faced up and using the groove in it as a weed guard. What say you?

Fluke newbie wanting advice
Some great advice so far! Do I want the ones with or without salt? (I forget, what is the benefit of both models?)

Fluke newbie wanting advice
Thinking about giving some flukes a try for LMB. I see the flukes, super flukes and some with and without salt. What should i start with? What are like the 2 or 3 most popular colors to try? TIA

Medium or MH for this new rod?
Yup it could handle a 5XD or yup you should not try that?

Medium or MH for this new rod?
There is a video on YouTube where David Fritts does a Tackle Warehouse video saying that they are 90% glass and 10% graphite.

Medium or MH for this new rod?
Looking to buy a rod dedicated to smaller crankbaits. Mostly squarebills, 3XDs and such Wanted to go with a glass rod and think I am going with the Lews David Fritts Perfect Crankbait rod because if its features and price I am going to do the 7' rod but cannot decide on the medium or medium-heavy variety I like the idea of a medium rod for this but I may also throw some 1/2 SK RES on this too. Would medium still work for this or do I need to go up? If I were to occasionally jump up to a 5XD could the medium do that or is that where the line is drawn and for that the MH is the route to go?

What is the point of this being bigger?
I just found a video on Youtube that David Fritts did about this. Said this design allows you to have your whole hand above the "trigger" giving you more control and not tiring you out as much. Anyone experience with this design?

What is the point of this being bigger?
I may be deciding between 2 different Lew's crankbait rods and I saw this comparison. I am a fan of the split grip style on a rod but saw for whatever reason this "thing" (I know it helps with your grip but I am not sure if I have ever heard a specific name for it) is much larger than the traditional size. Anyone have any experience with this kind of thing? I may have to order online and if I do I will upset if when it arrives and I do not like it. Why would they design something so much different? There has to be a reason I have not thought of or something.

Need crank rod help
Am I looking for M or MH?

Need crank rod help
I'm specifically looking at the Lews David Fritts Perfect crank model because I have found a great deal locally. If I went with the 7' and would also be looking to throw lipless with it should I go with the medium or medium heavy model? Is this particular rod made up of the ideal material to small/med cranks and lipless and not wear your arms out is fished all day?

What crankbait rod?
I am in the same boat, what did you ened up going with and do you like it?

Need crank rod help
Needing some opinions about getting a rod dedicated to crankbait fishing. Some things to consider: I already have a 7' Mach 2 Lews combo for most things I fish and a 7'6" jig/frog rod if it helps I do not see myself doing a ton of deep cranking (but it could happen and I would like this rod to be able to handle it) so I am probably looking for something that can handled 4 feet to 16 feet depths? Could fish some 1.5's up to 4.0's but maybe something bigger but very sparingly Everyone tells me to go with a glass rod for this, I assume you would agree with this? I am 5'10" and not sure if I should stick with something in the 7' range or go all the way up to something like 7'6". If I was going to be doing deep cranking exclusively I would do the 7'6" size but at my height and also wanting to use it is shallow settings too if the 7' variety is a better fit. What Power/action do I want to go with for this purpose? I think I will be matching this up with a 6:3 Daiwa Fuego CT reel ANY advice would be welcome!!

Anyone got a good budget baitcast reel they like?
I went for the Fuego CT in the 8.1 speed. I was kind of on the fence about it but Saturday was just walking through Scheels and randomly they had that exact model on sale for $49 and for that price I felt I could not pass on it. We have had a ton of rain around here lately so I have not gotten to really try it out much. I did sneak out to a local pond to just throw it a few times. I think my Lew's casts a hair further but not a big deal. Looking forward to trying it out more and playing with the settings.

What type of presentation do you recommend?
We have had a ton of the rain the last few days in Missouri but it is coming to an end tomorrow. All bodies of water are really up and over the normal banks. I have to kill a few hours tomorrow afternoon and will do a little fishing. Normally I do not want to do a lot of fishing when conditions are a bit "out of whack" but in conditions like this what lure and presentation should I go for if I'm after largemouth bass?

Keitech alternatives
A TON cheaper too

This is GREAT info, thank you for this!!!
