  1. Congrats on winning ! Catt is one of those folks with a wealth of personal experience and info and REALLY enjoys useing it to help others ... As Ever, skillet
  2. Don't really know if this is part of original question :-[! If you are going with live bait (crickets), most every sporting goods store carry bream sized hooks. Make sure and get long shanked hooks. That takes care of the problem of swallowed hooks ... As Ever, skillet
  3. Can't help much with any tips for your area but would like to say WELCOME to the forums!!! As Ever, skillet
  4. WELCOME to the forums!!! There's no arguing around here, we settle things differently... As Ever, skillet
  5. flippincrazy, A single man doesn't know what happiness is, 'till he gets married.........and then it's too late toolpush,if you think she was serious when she said "go ahead and go fishing for the whole 5 days".........BOY! I can't even think of anything funny for this ! You, my friend, have stepped in DEEP DODO :'(! R.I.P... As Ever, skillet
  6. Unless this is something I don't understand, why not use L or UL just for bream? Have had large bream bite parts off soft plastics but they always go for the trailing ends of the bait, even finesse worms. IMHO you would have better luck with small floating minnows or tiny cranks. Have caught some LARGE male bream on this type set-up this year ... As Ever, skillet
  7. Worked on the River as Deckhand/1st Mate and out there bailing wire was temporary and duct tape was a permanent fix for things .......don't think i would trust it for a boat though (no laughing). Used the JB Weld on a brass gatevalve for swimming pool and it held for whole Summer until I changed the valve out. Don't know exactly how much pressure but know it's a LOT on the lines and valves for swimming pool ... As Ever, skillet
  8. Mostly rely on feel myself but there have been enough times when line moved without a tap that I'm REALLY serious about watching the line! Haven't been fishing flukes a whole long time compared to other baits but I seem to do better if I keep it moving (zigzagging) pretty fast. Especially in warmer months and water when the fish are more aggressive ... As Ever, skillet
  9. Glad you're getting back into fishing and WELCOME!!! As Ever, skillet

  13. Boy, I sure hope not. Took me forever to finally settle on it, after giving up on mono. Worried several members to death on what they used and why :-[. Like it way too much for them to quit making it. Sure don't want to go on another "Great Line Hunt" ;D! Always took it for granted that Cabela's had exclusive rights (or really juicy pics of the pres. ), you sure can't find it around here... As Ever, skillet
  14. Haven't gotten any spam from these folks. Did see small article (advertisment?) in BassMaster mag. Basically a Porta-Potty you set up on your boat !!! As Ever, skillet
  15. Like Axl (Guns and Roses) said "just a little patience" . Most of the time, easier said than done! I fish mostly from the bank and keeping steady pressure is about all you can do. Have had them unwrap themselves by giving a little 8-). Have also had them throw the hook by giving a little . Think this called "Being between the Devil and the deep blue sea." ... As Ever, skillet
  16. Be sure to tell her " WAY TO GO!!!". That's better than what I've done there :-[ ;D... As Ever, skillet BTW Bet ya'lls little boy was excited!!!
  17. Glad you're back! I was thinking about you the other day and worried that maybe someone saw you fishing where the folks aren't quite as enthusiastic about wetting a line as we are :-/ ... As Ever, skillet

  20. This is just personal but when T-rigged I pretty much just "crawl" it along SLOW. If you feel it going over something (like a branch) let it flutter up and down. Have fooled MR. Bass with this many times ... As Ever, skillet
