playing musical instruments
About 3 or 4 months (he's got to be kidding, I've slept since then ;D) ago there was a post about playing a musical instrument. One of the replies veered off to transposing music, think it had to do with a harmonica. I've tried quite a few words and phrases in "search" with no results . If anyone remembers this post (hopefully the member who wrote about transposing) or a word or phrase I might try would be GREAT . Could you give me a holler... As Ever, skillet

jig & pig tips
IMHO the jig and pig is a great technique to use. Most folks will even say that it attracts larger fish. I normally fish smaller jigs (1/4 to 5/16 oz.), in deeper water or when trying to punch thru heavy vegetation folks go quite a bit larger. I usually stay with black or black and blue, brown or brown and orange or a varation of green pumpkin. If you have ever watched a crawfish in the water, that is the action I try for. I fish j&p or soft plastics REALLY slow. Try to throw past target and creep by or find the nastiest looking log jam or tangle of roots I can find and throw it right in the middle of it. You can just cast them, flip, pitch or swim them. When some folks first start using them they have a hard time telling the bite. Just keep trying. You also need to be a line watcher. At times the line moving in a different direction is the only way to tell you have a bite. This doesn't cover everything about j&p but it should get you started. It is a GREAT way to catch bass... Checkin' in...trying to make things right again...
I'm glad you decided to let us share this with you (it probably wasn't easy). The first time I posted in "Broken Fins" it took me forever, after writting it, to finally hit the post button. Bad things DO happen to good people . The advice given so far is probably better than what I could come up with :-[. Just wanted to let you know there is one more who is thinking about and hopeing better things come to you and your family... As Ever, skillet

favorite jig trailer
Most of the water I fish is skinny enough that I can get by using smaller jigs than a lot of you (1/4 to 5/16 oz.). Keeping that in mind, the Strike King 3x chunk jig trailer is a good size for me, comes in colors I like (don't use but about 3 colors on jigs) and I usually have to take one off the hook before it actually loses anything to bites . Haven't tried swimming jigs much yet :-[... As Ever, skillet

Strange Lure
Those wheels must make a heck of a rucus in the water! When I've seen a flying bug (must admit, I've never seen a cicada in the water) in the water they pretty much set in one spot and churn the surface or kind of go in a circle. You'd have to pull this one forward to get it to churn the water.........Right about here my wife :-*would say "you are always so negative " Really not trying to be.... As Ever, skillet

Spray on Attractant/Scent?
I don't think it really "attracts". If anything it might cover offensive odors or make the fish hold onto it just a little longer. Since I don't think it "attracts", I can't see a reason to use it on a fast moving bait like a spinner or a crank. Like Raul said, if you think it works for you, it probably does. Anything that gives you a little more confidence... As Ever, skillet

What a sight (pic)
Beautiful pic. Until we moved to where we are living now, I had always lived in the heart of the city. There are half a dozen old fruit trees at the back of our property and the does an fawns come up from the bottoms a lot. I was amazed when I saw a set of twins (remember city boy) and come to find out if they are healthy and have a good source of food that is the norm.... As Ever, skillet
