  1. I think it's just the scammer's script to set up multiple listings for the item. Same description for 10 items, then they just add the letters at the end so they can monopolize the entire page with a list of their fraudulent items.
  2. Just curious, how'd you work the senko?
  3. Yes, scam. They always list like 30 of them and end the listing with "a" "b" "c" "d" etc. That's how you know they're the scams. But yes, you will be protected by Ebay when the sale is fraudulent.
  4. Interesting trick, I use a snap on my spinnerbait/chatterbait rod so that I can switch between those lures frequently. I purposely buy closed loop spinnerbaits for that reason. But I'd like to try some of the open loop spinnerbaits. How do you get the tube on both sides of the open loop?
  5. That's in the tidal Potomac where it's a much larger, and complex watershed where their primary forage is banded killifish and bluegill. Maybe they'll have the same impact on a smaller/closed body of water, I hope. I love to fish for them, and harvest once in a while.
  6. Topwater can mean a variety of things (whopper ploppers, poppers, pencil baits, horny toads), can you be more specific on the lures? Your best bet is to probably start a new thread with more specific lures in mind. To me, the topwater technique doesn't require sensitivity and the form factor is more important. I like shorter handles and a shorter rod for poppers or working a walking pencil bait.
  7. Went to the Chop House for dinner and to partly do some reconnaissance. The lake is private property and has signs everywhere that say no fishing. Ended up taking my kids to Laurel Acres Park and fished that pond. Got 3 LMB on a GY single tail grub in about 30 mins by the pond sprinkler. Saw another kid pull a good sized mudcat using cut hotdog.
  8. I don't use it for those techniques at all. Handle is too long for a popper, for me and buzzbaits with a trailer would probably be pushing it's upper limit. But again I have the 2017 M/F version.
  9. I have the 2017 version and absolutely love it for open cover bottom contact. It is extremely sensitive, I can feel hits on slack 14lb fluoro. I fish trigs, jigs, chatterbaits, anything just under 1.5oz total weight. I think the 2017 version is a “medium/fast” but the 2018 is slightly more moderate and rated MH/mod fast. If I had to do it all over again I’d opt for the MH/mod fast as I have found I like rods just tad slower. So I can’t opine on the 2018 version but I think I would love it. Sorry for a rambling post but I’m at a wedding with open bar.
  10. Anyone here fish Silver Lake in Gibbsboro? Gonna be in the area tomorrow and thinking about going there.
  11. I'm not loyal to any company, so I just keep it simple like this: Daiwa SV's for my lighter technique rods, and pitching jig rod. Shimano for my long bomb/heavy technique rods.
  12. I went on a trip out on the Piankatank river last weekend on the Dragon Run. Caught about 14 LMB with the largest at 2.5lbs. Fishing was tough with wind and muddy water. Funniest catch was a 8" white perch on the Spro 40 rat. I also had a good size bowfin on a popper, but it came off at the boat when I was about to get the lippers on it. Best results were on a weightless purple ribbon tail worm along wood cover. This was the main river on the small cut that goes around Sherwin Island along the C&O Canal near Widewater on Sunday. The river here is usually almost fully slack...so much debris on the main river as well.
  13. I'll take any GY bait in green pumpkin with red flake.
  14. Unless you have current issues with the form factor on your Curado K, or you don't like the SVS braking system, I don't see any point to getting the TTU100. Weight difference is about .7oz based on the specs, but that may or may not be significant enough for you.
  15. Mono works fine where you want a little stretch and cushion on a faster rod, and if buoyancy matters to you. It's so cheap that if you don't like it, just strip it.
  16. Some great combos listed here.
  17. Yeah, the EMTF definitely has its limits, I won't go over 1/2oz with trailer on it. Maybe call up the guys at American Legacy Fishing, or Tackle Trap, they're great resources too.
  18. Check out the Cabela's Verano, it is a rebranded Daiwa with the Zaion carbon fiber body.Tatula LT (MSRP $190) The 2500 and 3500 are on sale for $104.99, shipped, and a lifetime Cabela's warranty to boot. https://www.cabelas.com/product/bargain-cave/fishing/reels/pc/105591780/c/105740280/sc/105742980/cabelas-verano-spin-reel/1749496.uts?slotId=6 I have the Daiwa BG1500, and it's solid, but it is heavy compared to my other spinning reels. I have several Pflueger Presidents, and love those too. Edit: This thread just convinced me to buy the 2500 even though I don't need it.
  19. Take a look at some of the Megabass Orochi offerings for your spec range. I have the 2017 EMTF and love it for my light cover jigs/trigs. It's the first rod where I noticed hits on slack line (14lb FC), even thrown way far out like 40+ yards.
  20. I use it on gears, and baitcaster worm shafts. No issues with it thus far.
  21. Do you care if the 3700's are stored flat, or upright in the backpack? If you want flat storage, your options are limited. I bought both the Daiwa Tactical Backpack which stores 3600's flat, and the Okuma Nomad which stores 3700's flat. I ultimately stuck with the Daiwa. It has plenty of storage even with 3600's and does not feel overly heavy when loaded. The Okuma was just so heavy when loaded.
  22. Do you have a schedule or something of your seminars? I'm very interested! Do BC's alter the fall trajectory because of the spool tension? If so is that something you think a SV spool would alleviate?
  23. That's probably the case. There are a couple spots on my reservoir that drop down to like 30-40 feet along a bridge. I either have to use a spinning set up to let that cast get down vertically at the spot I want, or use a SV type baitcaster so that when the lure hits the water I can keep it disengaged. There's no way I can rip out line fast enough to keep up with the lure sinking without altering it's landing spot. Pro Pic here: I would rather the position be "A" with either a spinning reel or SV type set up, instead of position "B" after ripping out line.
  24. I have the Team Daiwa 7' M/XF which I use for light jigs and love it. It does not take a lot of force to bend the tip down and is a true XF bend IMO, it has a very soft tip. I also have the Cronos 7' M/R and personally I think that's too moderate for jigs. I absolutely love it for jerkbaits and light spinnerbaits (Booyah Pond Magic, War Eagle Finesse), but it doesn't hurt to try and see if you like it for your application or not.
