All Fishing Major Brands Huge Price Bump
You're right, our entire nation dealt with a full blown depression, and several recessions. Hopefully it won't happen again. I'm not trying to be argumentative, but neither the Consumer Price Index or the Producer Price Index are politically driven. They're reports that the government release, sort of a report card on the economy and inflation. The quoted "transitory" is from noted economists that the government relies on. I guess that part could be considered politically motivated. If I offered, I'm sorry. I was just pointing out facts. Even with the way things are currently, I wouldn't change a thing. I was in Law Enforcement for well over 30 years and by 2013 I was simply over it. Like mentioned, I'm fortunate to have a decent pension and once I hit 62 I started my social security. Everything we own was paid off years ago. Don't use any form of credit. If you can pull it off, retire and don't look back or second guess yourself.

Bowfin/ Grinnal
My stepdaughter's boyfriend wanted to go fishing on Saturday. He had tied some crappie jigs a wanted to try them out. As I'm still in the process of rewiring/ updating my boat so, we went bank fishing for a bit at a near by creek. It was kind of cold, rainy and actually started snowing. We were light tackle fishing, he caught two largemouth, around 1 1/2 lb each on his crappie jigs. I caught two approx. 3 to 4 lb bowfins (they call them Grinnal around here, southern Arkansas). Never caught one of those before, never even seen one! Man, those things fought like crazy and had a mouth full of teeth! It seemed like a five minute fight, but it probably wasn't. Not going to lie, it was a blast. I was using Rat L Trap brand, 1/8 oz Tiny Traps in Crawdad color and 4 lb BPS Excel mono. St. Croix 7' light action rod and Shimano Stradic reel. Have any of you ever caught one of these? Moderators, please lock or delete this one. I accidentally posted it twice. My apologies.

Super Bowl 56
Even though the team that I was pulling for lost, it was a pretty good game. Absolutely the worst half time show of all time.

Sleeping.
I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat and sleep soundly all night. Go to bed fairly early and get up early, especially on fishing days. My poor wife on the other hand has a terrible time falling and staying asleep. Seriously, I feel sorry for her. She recently got a CPAP. I'm praying that it works for her. Sorry for getting off topic.

All Fishing Major Brands Huge Price Bump
@Shimano_1 has already replied, but like he said he "meant boats". We went to the Hot Springs, AR boat, rv and tackle show last year. The Bass Cat and Skeeter dealer both had rigs for $100+k!!! Nothing against either boat, they're great, but that is nuts. Salesman said it with a straight face. Our Chevrolet dealer had a new, decked out Silverado in the high $90's, a used one in the $70's! Like I've said before, I'm very much a "to each his own" type of person but a the older I get the more I realize that P. T. Barnum was right.

BPT - Stage One
I don't know? Before moving down here from east TN (home) people were complaining about the fishing pressure Chick was getting and the catch rates/ no big fish. Regulars on Guntersville too. Those are both big healthy lakes. On the flip side, Cherokee and Douglas get a ton of fishing pressure and while neither are noted "big fish" lakes, they always seem to produce good catch rates. Well, for everyone but me. My only worry with Busey is that it was completely drained, had improvements made and reopened. It's only been open for two years now I think. Not sure how much pressure it can sustain right now. On the other hand, it's fairly remote and out of the way. I do agree with you about the overpopulation but there are a lot of meat hunters from the local community that fish there. They're mainly after crappie and bluegill but they aren't going to cull a bass.

Brother, I have no issue with someone being on fb, heck my wife is. My kids have all deleted their accounts, but she's still on it. I'm very much a "to each his own" kind of guy. I was just agreeing with @TnRiver 46.

You are 100% correct. That little lake is fixing to be pounded and probably ruined in the short term.

Cordless Tools
I have several Ryobi cordless tools and like them a lot. Like @Tennessee Boy, I'm no professional but I do a bunch of stuff around the house and at my kids house. I've been looking at the Hart line of cordless power tools at Walmart. I did some research on them. They're made by the same parent company as Milwaukee and Ryobi. Some of the parts are even interchangeable. I might purchase a couple and see how it goes.
