I will continue to pray for you and your friends family.
  2. When I worked for BPS, all soft plastics were made by a company called Southern Plastics, or something like that. The late Tom Mann owned the company for a long time. Other than the hooks, the XPS line of hard plastics were great lures. The XTS line of hard plastics, not so much. I agree with @Basser2021 100%. I've never had an H20 Express lure that didn't run true out of the box. Oval split rings, great hooks, fish catching machines!
  3. Man Ken, your work is excellent! That's a fine looking boat.

My bassin' brother, I will be praying for your friend, her family and for you. Please keep us updated. Like Glenn said, "Modern medicine is incredible", so is prayer and all of the good thoughts. You hang in there and be there for your friend and her family.
  5. NWS, Fox Weather and one of our local stations. Normally the last thing I do before heading out is to turn on my weather alert radio and listen for the local forecast.
  6. I fish alone most of the time. Sometimes my son in law goes with me, sometimes my wife goes but usually I'm alone. I'm pretty much a loner so I like being alone.
  7. One of the deputies that worked for me loved carp! I'm not a huge fish eater, but he was always trying to bring me a carp sandwich. I tried it, wasn't for me at all.
  8. Amen!!! Everything is getting out of hand. Entry level boats over $30K? High end boats and trucks over $100K? There's going to be a financial reckoning. To the point, nothing wrong with either Nitro or Triton. You probably won't find a new rig any cheaper unless you can find some left over 2020 or 2021 rigs. Personally, I wouldn't buy new right now. Heck, I wouldn't buy used unless it's a deal.
  9. Welcome to the club @Tennessee Boy, congratulations! Get well soon.
  10. Ken, Your work looks great! That's going to be one heck of a rig. Thanks for sharing it.
  11. I'm with @MN Fisher and @Team9nine, GO! There's never a bad time to go fishing. Be there when they open the gates and have at it.
  12. We've got watches, warnings and a sighted tornado all over South Arkansas and North Louisiana right now. We've had storms the last three or four weeks, all on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
  13. I've never had a problem with FedEx. I order a lot of stuff from Bass Pro and they use FedEx. Not one problem.
  14. I never really used them, however. This was years ago, but still relevant to this conversation. In 2000, I bought a brand new 19' ChampioN bass boat, probably the best boat I've ever owned. After fishing all day, I returned to the ramp and tied off the boat to the floating dock and backed the trailer in. Loaded the boat, pulled it out and started wiping it down. To my horror, there was a deep scratch/ gouge in the gel coat on the top cap towards the back! I went down to the dock and found a good sized rusty nail sticking out. I got my boat fixed and purchased some bumpers.
  15. I had an Ascend 128T kayak. It was a great kayak, at a good price. I added a foot controlled Minn Kota and a Power Pole Micro to mine. Ascend used to make a hybrid kayak similar to your Ultimate. You can spend a lot more, but why? With the prices some of the name brand kayak companies are changing, you can buy a real boat. Now, all of that said, after five or six years I sold my Ascend kayak and bought a full sized boat. Kayak fishing just wasn't for me.
  16. Welcome from a fellow East Tennessean, currently in exile in south Arkansas. My closest friend in the world has a cabin really close to the Hiwassee near Reliance, TN.
  17. I use the BPS neoprene type reel covers and the BPS nylon with an adjustable strap type rod cover for storage purposes. I'm going to get the other type that BPS sells to use in the new rod lockers in my boat as I feel that they will offer more protection for the rod eye's while in the boat.
  18. My wife and I are with Verizon, thinking about changing over to Consumer Cellular.
  19. Congratulations Ken, she's looking really good!
  20. Welcome from a born and raised in Knoxville, UT Vols fan currently in exile in south Arkansas!
  21. What happened to the previous owner? He was always very "business like" and not super personable, but I liked him. He carried stuff that no one else had. I can't remember his name?
  22. Saw on the news that GM and Toyota are shutting down two manufacturing facilities because they can't get computer chips.
  23. I am perfectly fine fishing without it. I use mine for depth, water temp and to see what's under the boat. The day I go "video game fishing" will be the day I hang it up. Like @Mat_ski said, I'm a river rat.
  24. After promising myself that I wasn't going to buy anymore tackle, the bait monkey reached out a snatched me up this morning! I dropped my wife off at the local hospital where she works for an MRI. She suggested that I run by Walmart to pass the time. They had these new 3.5" HD Tackle (never heard of them) "Ned-Mites". They also come in 5". Anyway, 12 packs later I'm sitting in the parking lot wondering why I'm so weak. Have any of you heard of H D Tackle?
  25. I should be fishing but I've got to wrap up my boat re-wire, electronics update and new deck/ rod locker project. Rewiring, complete, electronics update, 80% complete. Headed to the hardware store for plywood right now. Doggone 4' X 8' X 1/2" sheet of plywood is $43.00 now!!! EDIT; Just got back from the hardware store, plywood is now $59.00 a sheet!
