  1. That is all excellent advice to be remembered.
  2. When I lived in Nashville, my next door neighbor was a guide and tournament angler. His average tip was around $50.00, sometimes higher, sometimes lower. Charlie was an excellent teacher and would go the extra mile.
  3. Locally, no it really hasn't affected it much at all. Since moving to South Arkansas, I always try to go back to East TN to go fishing with, and visit a close friend at his cabin. That's not happening this year. I also like to make a few trips to North Arkansas to go river fishing for smallie's. I'll be making one trip this year. Even with fuel prices coming down about a nickel, they are over double what we were paying. Nothing to crow about.
  4. Not to hijack the topic, but what are these teardrop split rings you speak of Ken??? I've never seen or heard of them.
  5. I believe the guy that invented the Flying Lure does collect vintage bass boats. I'm pretty sure that I read an article about it a few years ago. His first name is Alex, last name starts with an L if memory serves me.
  6. @slonezp, I am sorry for the loss of your friend. I lost one of my closet friends to suicide.
  7. The articles memorializing Ray Scott are top notch in both Bassmaster and B.A.S.S. Times. His contributions to our sport are second to none.
  8. I carry the small Swiss Army knife every where I go. It's the one with a small blade, file/flat screwdriver, scissors and a toothpick. It's like a tube of Chapstick, I feel naked without it........ nobody wants to see that!
  9. Ken, Just watched the video while eating lunch. I've said it over and over, but your work is amazing. You stretched those dollars about as much as you could without them tearing apart. Thank you for taking us along. Steve
  10. I received mine Friday, BASS Times too. Can't wait to read them both today.
  11. That's what I did. I'm not much into this kind of thing.
  12. I guess I missed that. Thank you Ken.
  13. When I was signing into Bass Resource just now, I was directed to some sort of Security Authenticator. What was up with that? Is this something from BR?
  14. Ken, I'm not much of a Trekkie, but how about the "Enterprise"? That's probably to obvious. That said, I'm really happy for you, you've done an amazing job. Well done Sir, well done indeed.
  15. I've been to several BPS stores and enjoyed every one. I'm planning on going to the Pyramid store this fall. My stepdaughter went last year and really enjoyed it.
  16. Lord yes I have!
  17. It's been in the mid to upper 90's here in southern Arkansas. The last weather report I saw was predicting triple digits Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Think I'll just stay in the house until late September!
  18. What he said. It will all come tumbling down.
  19. Thank you and right back at you. My pops has been gone for around 15 years, but not a day goes by that I don't think about him and miss him.
  20. That's tough stuff brother, I'll be praying for you and your dad. Lost my dad to dementia/Alzheimer's years ago. I remember how tough it was. Hang in there.
  21. That may work better for wading part of the equation. Thank you!
  22. Thank you so much @Deleted account! I'll give this a try.
  23. I'm pretty sure that I've got one of those sitting in the empty somewhere in the shop. I'll give it a try. Do the inline spinners (Mepps, Rooster Tails, Joe's) stay in place?
  24. I'm in need of either ideas or a product to store inline spinners. BPS made one years ago, but it's been long since discontinued. Right now I have them in a Plano 3600 and that works okay, just a pain to untangle them. I thought about hanging them in a spinnerbait box, but there has to be a better way. I fish from a boat 95% of the time, but I do wade some. Any ideas, recommendations or hacks?
  25. I'm so weak. Ordered eight of the new Mepps, "Bronze Slammer" inline spinners. Four different colors, two each, all 1/4 oz. Heading to the Buffalo River in north Arkansas in late July, gonna give them a go.
