  1. I have a 16' X 50" modified V jon. Two years ago I purchased a trailerable boat cover at Academy for $39.99. Knock on wood, it's still going strong. No tears, doesn't leak, couldn't ask for for any better for the money. I would highly recommend one.
  2. For me it's more ethnicity. I absolutely love Italian food and Chinese food!
  3. I'm a shallow water junk fisherman. Make sure the batteries are charged, boat is fueled, drinks, etc and go. I keep baits tied on my rods. I store the rods with the drags loosened, so I have to remember to adjust that.
  4. I'm a son of the South, either way is fine by me. I'm not a spelling or grammar nazi. As long as I can understand the point, I'm good. Y'all have a good'un!
  5. It's called "The best spinning reel tip of all time."
  6. Matt Stefan has an excellent tutorial on his YouTube channel concerning getting the knot's out of you spinning tackle. I would link it, but I don't know how. I'm like @MN Fisher, I've been at this way more years than I care to think about so I rarely (knock on wood) get any knot's in my line. On the few times I have, Matt's method works.
  7. I will never forget, I will never, ever forgive.
  8. You must have walked across his yard, ie "Get off of my grass!" You should have stayed if you were on 'em.
  9. In Memphis? Welcome to "Thug life". I'll drive through Memphis on the interstate if I have to, I won't stop in Memphis. As much as I want to go to the BPS/ Pyramid, I probably won't.
  10. I am extremely brand loyal. I only use BPS Platinum casting rods, Crankin' Stick crank bait rods and Patriot spinning rods. I use Platinum casting reels. My one deviation is I use Shimano spinning reels. Started using them back when the BPS spinning reels had those crazy large diameter spools. Now that Diawa is making the JM signature series and Platinum spinning reels, I may try one.
  11. It was a beautiful day here in south Arkansas today, 89 and sunny. I don't fish on weekends or holidays as a rule. To many people on the water for me. Some of the kids came over and we cooked out. I made a kick butt key lime pie if I do say so myself.
  12. Prayers sent for Dee's healing and for peace for you @Hammer 4. Please keep us updated.
  13. @A-Jay, I'll be adding both you and Lynn to my prayer list.
  14. I like to use the lightest line that I can get away with. On bladed jigs, it's usually 12 lb mono for me.
  15. I'm thinking that whoever the title or registration says is the manufacturer, is the manufacturer.
  16. True enough, Charger did aquire the ChampioN molds, made minor changes to the stripping and started producing them. Other than the changes to the stripe's, it's a great looking rig. I completely understand why they changed the stripes, just not for me. I used to have a 19' ChampioN, best boat I've ever owned. Here's a little trivia for you. BPS/ White River Marine own the ChampioN name now. They also own the Stratos, Pro Craft and I believe Astro names. They own the rights to some other boat names from the past but I can't remember them.
  17. I agree, before I moved to AR, Chick had become a shell of what it was. I used to really enjoy the "Top 100" issue. I don't even read the article anymore, haven't for a few years now.
  18. As much as I like BPS/ JM, I'm glad it got shot down too.
  19. I hate it, but Cabela's was headed straight into bankruptcy. Like other retailers, they tried to get to big, to fast and didn't have the capital nor the infrastructure to handle it. They were just trying to keep up with BPS and couldn't. Johnny Morris/BPS couldn't have purchased Cabela's if they weren't for sale. Closing stores that were in close proximity to a BPS store only makes financial sense. As to the Sidney headquarters being closed, BPS already has a headquarters in Springfield, MO. In my opinion, like Sam Walton and Dick Cabela, Johnny Morris is an American success story. Started in the trunk of his car, moved a trailer and eventually to his dad's liquor store to what BPS is now. Quite the feat if you ask me.
  20. @Ryanralston07, Great review! I only use BPS rods and casting reels. I couldn't agree with your findings more. I've got four of the Platinum rods and six of the reels. Two of the Platinum reels are on Crankin' Stick's. I've also own three Patriot spinning rods, they're great too! I always use either straight braid or straight mono so the knot thing has never been an issue for me. That said, I can see where it would be using micro guides.
  21. Depending on the technique, I prefer casting gear but I always have three quality spinning outfits in my boat. I must be doing something wrong, I very rarely have any issues at all with my spinning gear.
  22. Looks like a good schedule to me. @TnRiver46, I hope to see you again in Knoxville next March!
  23. I don't see my wife and I ever owning an electric vehicle. I have no use for them.
  24. My ex father in law had a Sea Eagle inflatable kayak. He liked it quite a bit, but eventually sold it to get a Hobie pedal drive kayak. As it the durability, don't give it a second thought. He was famous for tearing up stuff. That Sea Eagle never gave him any issues at all.
