  1. I use fire tiger mainly in stained water. If nothing else is working, I will try it in clear water.
  2. Home Alone, Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation and Bad Santa.
  3. You can't hardly go wrong with an old school Rouge or Rattling Rouge. You could get two of them for $16.00. I have Megabass, Lucky Craft, Duo Realis, Rapala, Strike King etc, etc in my jerkbait box but I always save room for Rouge's.
  4. I love a Shad Rap, use them all the time. If I break one or break one off, no big deal I've got plenty. Strictly throw them on spinning tackle and six to eight pound mono.
  5. I agree with most everything that @Revival had to say. Rat L Traps used to come with terrible hooks, but they've been improved. The RES hooks aren't absolute junk, but they will need to be replaced with quality hooks fairly soon.
  6. Jig fishing is what I would like to gain confidence in. Regular jigs, finesse jigs and swim jigs. Crazy thing is, my PB smallies came on a black and blue, Denny Baur flipping jig! That and a drum are the total or my jig fishing.
  7. I hate long intro's and ultra high tech. Give me a knowledgeable guy or gal with a couple of camera's and I'm good. I subscribe to Randy Blauket and Matt Stefan's channels. They're both good, but I'm getting tired of Randy's constant pimping his sponsor's, social justice stuff and trying to do the hard sell of his BaitWrx stuff. I'm to the point of unsubscribing. Matt's not as bad, but he's working on it.
  8. My wife loves to cook and collects cookbooks. I found three cookbooks that she's been wanting and four new Our Place pots. They're the folks that run the ad's for the "Always Pan". I got her two last year and she loved them. Now she has the full set. I also got her a pair of Costa's. If you enjoy cooking, I highly recommend the Always Pots and Pans. They aren't cheap, but they're really good.
  9. Looks like Auburn is getting Hugh Freeze. Assuming that the reported rumor is true and he can get good assistant coaches, he'll get them back on track. Hugh's a good coach. That Michigan vs Ohio State game was great! I'm a hardcore TN/SEC fan and didn't have a dog in the fight, but a good game is a good game! Great job Big Blue
  10. While working p/t at BPS, we had several people return Megabass jerkbaits with broken bills. They had purchased them from us and it all happened within about a six month window. We all thought that it was a bad run. We replaced them via the return policy. Any non BPS product have a 30 day replacement warranty, at least they did when I worked there.
  11. Knock on wood, I've never been asked to produce a fishing license. I have been stopped once for a boating safety check which I passed. I always keep a hard copy of my license on my boat w/the registration, a copy in my wallet and a digital on my phone. Even as a retired LEO, the game wardens aren't to be trifled with!
  12. First, moderators feel free to move this as I really was unsure where to put it. My wife is wanting to get me an inflatable PFD for Christmas, asked me to pick one out. My question involves sizing. I'm 6'2' and bounce between 240 and 250. I've seen AM 24 and AM 33. I assume that has something to do with the amount of floatation? I've looked at Academy and BPS on-line. Neither really answered my questions. Thank you for the help.
  13. There pretty easy to install. I always get the folding style at BPS. If I remember correctly, each mounting bracket requires you to drill two holes. The ladder comes with good stainless nuts and bolts. All you have to get, other than the ladder, is some good ol 5200.
  14. @Bass Rutten, thank you for the reply. I can see those in my future.
  15. Okay, the Bait Monkey is tugging at my wallet. What is that bait and color???
  16. This might have been mentioned before, if so forgive me for saying it again. If you don't have a boarding ladder, install one. They're pretty easy to install and fairly inexpensive. Always have a complete change of clothes in your boat, including underwear, socks, shoes, even a jacket of some sort. Always, always, always wear you PFD! I read that you are used to working in freezer's and that's a good thing for winter fishing. If you are far from the boat ramp and you were to fall in the water in cold weather, hypothermia can overtake you in minutes.
  17. I have Pandora and Spotify. Find myself listening to Spotify more and more. I still have a ton of cd's and vinyl, listen to them too.
  18. I'm a Christmas junkie, we'll start decorating today. We mainly decorate inside, with a few outside decorations. I'm not a fan of lighting the yard like a small city so we keep it pretty simple. I've been listening to Christmas music since Halloween.
  19. Doggone @Catt, I would love to try that "Saltgrass pecan pie bread pudding"! I love bread pudding. Are you taking about the Saltgrass restaurant chain? There's one in Little Rock, right behind Bass Pro Shops. If so, I'm trying it next time at BPS!
  20. I'm not 100% what everyone is bringing. I know that my wife's excellent dressing will be there , with cranberry sauce. I have seen a chocolate pie, a coconut pie, two egg custard (my favorite) and some no bake cookies. I've heard that a turkey and a ham will be in attendance, but I haven't laid eye's on them myself. I hope all of y'all have an extremely happy Thanksgiving!
  21. I've got Millennium boat seats in my boat and I love them! I've had the same experience as far as my back is concerned. I sit while bluegill or crappie fishing. I have the Millennium Palma (sp?) horse pedestal seat on an adjustable, gas charged pole for bass fishing. I like it too.
  22. I always remove the line when servicing my reels. Re-spool with fresh lime when finished unless I'm through for the year. In that case I re-spool in late winter, right before I start fishing again.
  23. Happy Birthday Ken!
  24. As a VFL (Vol for Life), I don't even want to talk about last night's fiasco.
  25. I know that this will sound nuts, but black baits (soft or hard) intimidate me. I know that they work, I just never buy them.
