  1. I purchased the same box Wednesday. Going to move in this weekend.
  2. I love this place too. Glenn and the moderator's do a terrific job and the membership is second to none. I used to get a chuckle out of the term "internet friend", not so much anymore.
  3. To my understanding, the state of LA closed, drained and made improvements to Bussy before I moved to south Arkansas. Once it reopened, people started going but nothing like it is now.
  4. You have a smart accountant.
  5. We have several small lakes and one smaller river nearby that a lot of folks don't visit for some reason. That's where I usually go as I don't want to fish around others and enjoy my peace and quiet. Bussy Brake in LA is 15 miles from my house. It's small and used to be a great place to go until the mlf ruined it for everyone. Small lake that takes a pounding. Used to be few trucks and trailers in the parking lot, not anymore. There are two large lakes that receive a lot of pressure nearby too. I usually pass on those also.
  6. I don't remember who was asking about this last week, maybe the week before. I received my BPS Fishing Master catalog today. It's 599 pages. Also, the big Spring Fishing Classic sale will be March 9th through the 29th. They will be continuing the rod and reel trade in program.
  7. I'm in! Hopefully I can do better this season.
  8. Things must have really changed a lot since I left BPS. I sold boats for one of my four years there. At the Kodak/ Sevierville BPS, you could arrange your own financing, go thru who ever financed boats for us (I don't remember) or we would use TVA Employees Credit Union (Tennessee Valley Authority) Also, you could put as much down as you wanted with any of the banks. Whoever it was that did the BPS financing required a minimum of 10% down. TVA didn't require anything down, depending on your credit score. With the increases in interest rates, the rate you were quoted might not be to bad. I don't know what they are now. I pay cash for everything. Been out of debt for years.
  9. I played football in middle and high school, plus I was pretty tall. Don't really remember the details, but another member of our team shoved me during our biology class. I hit him in the jaw, he went down, that was the end of that. Numerous times during my career folks, mainly drunks, would want to fight the Police. Never ended very well for them. Between the military and law enforcement training, you're taught certain ques or situational indications to look out for. I took the training to heart.
  10. Regret, I don't live in that world. I've done things that I won't do again. I've done things that had to be done, but I'm not really proud of them. Like @whitwolf, I choose to look forward, not behind. Things that happened, happened for a reason.
  11. When it comes to door to door salesman and the I don't even let them get started with their routine. I politely tell them that we're not interested. If that doesn't work I close the door on them.
  12. I've been a member since the early to mid 80's. Can't imagine being without it. I enjoyed FLW's magazine, but there's no more FLW. I've let Bass Angler Magazine go, but I'll be staying with B.A.S.S. from now on
  13. I'm hoping to attend.
  14. I use the improved clinch/ Trilene knot from time to time, very little. For the most part I like to keep things simple and only use a palomar knot.
  15. RIP Jeff Beck
  16. There are usually T/M's and electronics included in the BPS Spring Fishing Classic sale. Which one's and how much remain to be seen.
  17. What he said. If you can hold off for a couple of months, the BPS Spring Fishing Classic sale will be going on. The always discount all of their lures.
  18. Thank you for the great heads up @Steveo-1969.
  19. Doggone, what an absolute beat down, 65 - 7. Like others, I stopped really watching after halftime. I bet TCU is still wondering what happened. Congratulations to UGA and their fans. Go SEC!
  20. Doggone, GA has jumped on TCU early and often!
  21. I used to listen to music all the time while fishing. I had a really nice sound system installed in my last new fiberglass bass boat, 2001 19' ChampioN. One day while fun fishing during the summer I dove in for a cool off and could hear the music under water, especially the bass. Never again played music while fishing. I bought a couple of new aluminum rigs, and a used Stratos after that. Never even thought about having adding a sound system.
  22. I agree with @MN Fisher and @AlabamaSpothunter hard pass from me too.
