  1. Is anyone using this rod? I've been debating about purchasing two of the 6'9' light action rods for panfishing. Thanks for looking.
  2. I agree! Don't know how old you are, I'm 63. I still mostly rock the old school techniques.
  3. I agree, kinda puts me in springtime moods to. I might buy some Rocco's and Slim's. May get some BPS grubs too.
  4. Italian food is probably my favorite. I love lasagna, chicken parmesan and spaghetti with Italian sausage with the sauce. Doggone, I'm "jonesing" for Italian now. Is chicken parmesan even real Italian food?
  5. Like I said, to each his own.
  6. I got mine today, as much as I like BPS, I must say that like the past few Classic sales, this isn't a strong ad. A lot of the same stuff. Looks like with the exception of the Diawa Regal LT spinning reel, Diawa and Shimano aren't allowing BPS to include their products in the trade in program. A lot of stuff is only discounted if you're a member of their "Club", meaning you have one of their credit cards and use it at the point of purchase. I don't believe in using credit so I'm out. To each his own, I just prefer paying for everything with cash.
  7. My first real bass boat was a 1997 Nitro 640 (16') with the dreaded Force outboard, 90 h/p in my case. It was an excellent boat and motor, never gave me any problems whatsoever. The only reason I sold it was we outgrew it. I have several friends with newer Nitro's that love them. If I wanted a new fiberglass bass boat I wouldn't hesitate to purchase a new Nitro.
  8. That is great news @Hammer 4!!! I'll continue to pray for you guys.
  9. Are rod/reel aesthetics super important to me? Kind of, I want my stuff to look good, but performance is more important to me. I purchase good stuff and take excellent care of it.
  10. I don't even want to know how much my tackle weighs!
  11. I, for one, understood that you were injecting humor. I feel for you @GreenPig. Managed to go 61 of my 63 years without a kidney stone. Now I've had two and it's not fun.
  12. What he said!
  13. Awesome is just that! We use around home on just about everything, heck I've even used one heavily stained work clothes. It's pretty cheap to purchase too. I've used it on my aluminum hull before. It's all painted camo though.
  14. I took would love to read them!
  15. Ain't that the truth!
  16. I know, anything that BPS builds takes a while. The store that I worked at took three years to build. We go to Jasper close to every other year and rent a cabin. Love the area and fishing in the Buffalo River. We'll probably be up there regardless of the Nature Center's completion
  17. I'm really looking forward to seeing what he does with the old, basically abandoned Dogpatch USA amusement park outside of Jasper, AR. I've read that it's going to be some sort of conservation minded, open to the public park. I know that it is a beautiful area. I was up there not to long after the deal was announced. They were already cleaning up the place. Edit, Just read that it will be called "Marble Falls Nature Center". Johnny Morris paid over $1 million for the park and surrounding acreage. The article I read was fairly old and didn't give an opening date. I hope to get up that way this spring or summer.
  18. I could dump my units tomorrow and never miss a beat. I'm a shallow water junk fisherman. For me, I've got two nice, new Garmin temperature gauges. The main thing I use them for nosing around in new water.
  19. @MN Fisher turned me on to Scheels. We don't have any in AR, closest one is in TX. Back during the heights of china's gift to the world, no one had something that I was looking for to install in my boat in stock, don't remember what it was. Scheels had it in stock, competitive pricing and fast shipping. I wish there was one in Little Rock or closer.
  20. I got to meet Johnny twice while working for BPS. First time I called him Mr Morris. He thanked me and said "from now on it's Johnny." He is a really nice, down to earth guy that was in the right place, with the right idea, at the right moment in time.
  21. Congratulations to Tyler Rivet for winning the first bass tournament of the year! The first win of his professional career too.
  22. TW's shipping is the main reason why I no longer do business with them.
  23. Nothing like Keith Poche, but back in the late 80's a buddy and I launched my old jon boat into a creek with no ramp. Heck, there wasn't even a road to the creek. Backed the trailer over a 2' or 3' embankment into water and let it go. My buddy and I had a great day catching little slicks, nothing big. I remember launching like it was yesterday, couldn't tell you how we got it back on the trailer or back up and over the embankment! All I had to pull it was a 2WD Ford Ranger.
  24. I don't put a lot of confidence in using scents, never have. I bought some Bait Fuel late last summer and used it with zero results. I'll use it this spring and summer and see if it's any better. So far I'm not impressed.
