  1. RIP Tucker, look after mom and dad from heaven. Sorry for your, and your families loss @A-Jay
  2. RIP Ray Scott. Thank you for everything that you did. Got to meet him once on Old Hickory Lake in Nashville. I was in my late twenties and stood there in awe. He seemed bigger than life to me.
  3. No worries my friend. I never took it that way.
  4. To my understanding, they've always been in west TN. They were reintroduced in middle and east TN.
  5. Not a problem at all brother. My mother passed away in 1993. The sting is long gone. Nothing but great memories. Thank you
  6. My story isn't very crazy, nor is it about bass fishing but it's something I'll never forget. One day while wading the Caney Fork River in middle TN for trout, I saw my first bald eagle flying reasonably low above me. I've seen plenty of bald eagles in captivity, but never in the wild. It was one of the most beautiful things that I've ever seen in nature! I admit that I'm a very patriotic and love this great country. God bless the USA
  7. I was telling my wife about this topic on BR and my reply. She said the exact same thing, then added "you'll probably end up getting lit and now the neighbors yard."
  8. I not only hate mowing grass, I despise it. I hate running the weed eater even more. We pay a guy to do it right now, but as my wife is looking at joining me in retirement we'll probably let him go. Our house sits on three lots so we've got a lot to mow. I've been looking at zero turns lately. I'll need to build a cooler mount for beer.

Thanks for the info. I never thought about ordering keys online!
  10. Other than a few saltwater species, I'm not much of a fish eater so I am 100%catch and release. If I gut hook one, which rarely happens, I'll give it to one of my neighbors. I will eat crappie or bluegill on rare occasions, but I can't even remember the last time that happened. All of that said, if someone is legally fishing, take some home if you want.
  11. I've purchased some of the Magellan outdoors shirts. Great shirt at a reasonable price. I've bought some Realtree Fishing shirts at Walmart. They are also good shirts, although a little stiff until you wash them a few times. Worldwide Sportsman shirts at Bass Pro are good. All of those shirts are every bit as good as my Columbia PFG shirts.
  12. Honesty is always the best policy. I agree, an apology or at least a thank you for your honesty would have been nice. Most folks would have kept the rod.
  13. I only use the vinegar mixture on the outboard, mainly on the lower unit. I should have added that I follow with Meguier's (sp?) spray wax.
  14. Although my current rig is camo, I actually prefer white boats. When I first started serious bass fishing, my neighbor (who always had white boats) taught me this. Carry an old hand towel or dish towel in your truck. When you pull your boat out of the water, wet the cloth and immediately wipe it down. The scum line/ water line will wipe right off with no problem. I would always follow up with a dry cloth, but that's just me. Scum lines are easy to get off as long as you don't let them dry. I always waxed my boats top to bottom once a year. In a spray bottle, mix roughly 75% water with 25% white vinegar. That will remove water spots on your boat and outboard fairly easily. I realize that I'm kinda OCD about things, but I never let my boat stay dirty and always keep up with preventive maintenance. I also never had a problem selling a rig when I wanted to upgrade. All thanks to my old neighbor Charlie, rest in peace my friend.
  15. I'll be praying for you.
  16. I feel for you @DitchPanda, I hope that your back improves. I have zero problems with chiropractors. My wife is a nurse for an orthopedic surgeon, he refers people to chiropractors from time to time. I have arthritis in my lower spine, it's an adventure some days.
  17. I just re-watched the video. He was talking about Table Rock and Grand Lake. He did expand his comments to say that city managers, sports authority managers, etc need to work with the tournament directors to not have so many tournaments on any given body of water on the same day.
  18. I like the vast majority of Randy's videos, and I find myself agreeing with most, not all, of his opinions. In the video in question, he never said that there were "to many tournaments being held" in a general sense. He was talking about one particular lake (forgot which one), on one particular weekend. Heck, he's right. When I was still living in east TN and still tournament fishing, it was nothing for there to be numerous tournaments on the same body of water, on the same day. Sometimes going out of the same ramp. These tournament directors, sports authority and/or chamber of commerce folks need to start working together.
  19. I've been using BPS Excel mono for over twenty years. Never had an issue with it at all.
  20. I like Luke Dunkin's Low Budget Live and Dave Mercer's podcast called Mercer
  21. When I was still working at BPS, Japanese Lucky Crafts we're on the $16.99 range I think. The USA line was $9.99.
  22. Don't hold me to this, because I may not be remembering correctly. I don't want to intentionally mislead anyone. I'm pretty sure the difference is in the hooks and split rings, maybe not as many colors in the Lucky Craft USA line. The bait itself is the same. They had to change some stuff to lower the price point.
