  1. The resson ol' Johnny bought Ranger was because it was for sale That's exactly right, you can't buy what wasn't offered up as "For Sale". And nope, the sky hasn't fallen, seriously doubt that it will.
  2. Hello young Mr Kevin!!! Welcome to the world. Congratulations to you @Mike L and to your family!
  3. I sent you a p/m.
  4. Tom @WRB and a couple of others are like the old E.F. Hutton ad's, if they speak I listen! To the topic, after busting a tire on a ramp years ago, I wouldn't even attempt it. Back to the edge, if you can launch and reload safely, have at it. If not, go somewhere else. That's my rule of thumb.
  5. @Bluebasser86, Short 55, that's more officers than we had total in the Sheriff's Dept I worked for! I probably should call some of the guys to see how they're all doing. When I retired and left, made a clean break. I went back one time.

I'm not a golf fan at all, but I'm a huge John Daly fan. I like folks that do things their own way. @Deleted account mentioned Payne Stewart, I liked him too.
  7. Brother, I don't know how you get any rest at all, those are crazy hours! Are you guys short handed or is that just how your duty schedules work?
  8. Congratulations on your new career. I'm retired law enforcement. When I worked for the state, our rdo's (regular days off) rotated but we got them. I always set aside at least one day for fishing/ decompression. After retiring from the state as a Lieutenant, I worked for the county sheriff's office as a Sergeant for four more years before I had enough. We had three days off so it was no problem. As you progress, you'll build annual and sick time. I always took a week off in March and another week off in October for fishing. Plus, take some three and four day weekends here and there. Also, there's always the old mental health days. Good luck
  9. I had the exact same experience. My first real bass boat was a 1997 Nitro 640 with a 90 h/p Force on it. Neither the boat or the outboard ever gave me a problem. To the topic, I wouldn't have purchased so much tackle.
  10. Thank you for the update @Hammer 4, I'm glad that Dee is a home in familiar surroundings. You two are both in my prayers.
  11. Bass Pro Shops Pro Qualifier, first generation. I've since upgraded to BPS Platinum reels. Still have three of my PQ's, if needed.
  12. Iggy is a beautiful dog.
  13. I've heard of people standing comfortably in the 10' pond prowlers. You can probably stand and fish in an 8' model. It most likely would come down to your sense of balance. I would probably fall out of either of them.
  14. Most Masonic Lodges don't have anyone at the lodge other than during meetings or events. If you have a Shriners Temple in your area, they usually have someone there daily. Not sure about the York Rite or Scottish Rite.
  15. Your grandfather, or whoever the sword originally belonged to was most likely a member of the Commandery in the York Rite. Just like being a Shriner, both are a part of Freemasonry.
  16. Mines a 2017 Toyota Tacoma. It's got a little over 65,000 on it now. I tried to attach a picture but it said that the pic was to large. I have no idea how to resize it
  17. I love John Daly, he doesn't give a crap. He is who he is.
  18. Well done @jbsoonerfan, well done indeed! Any time that you help a kid, you've done the right thing.
  19. I've had numerous work or church related friends and, from time to time we'd hangout. However, I never really considered any of them to be real friends. In law enforcement, we tend to hang out with each other, or like minded folks. Before retirement, I would have fought anyone or anything to protect my brothers and sisters in blue, still would. I've had two real, best friends in my life. One has gone on, RIP Richard. The other is so close that we call each other "brother", the one I never had one. My wife still gets a kick over us telling each other "I love you" when we visit, talk on the phone, text, etc. Crazy thing is, we're polar opposites. He's agnostic, I'm a Christian. He's moderately liberal, I'm hardcore conservative. He's vegetarian, I'm most definitely not, etc, etc We're both Veterans, he was in L/E for a time, we both love bass fishing and each other. Other than him, I'm pretty much, on purpose, a loner. After moving to South Arkansas, I've been asked several times to go out and make new friends. My reply, I'm good. I do consider y'all to be internet friends.
  20. Happy birthday @Hammer 4, do something for yourself today even if it's just a hot apple pies at McDonald's. Please know that we are all praying for Dee, for you and your family.
  21. I'm with you, the Bait Monkey has been whooping my butt for years. I've been giving stuff away here and there, but finally I sold well over half of my rods and reels. Not gonna lie, I got exactly what I was asking but took a beating so to speak. I don't care, wasn't using the stuff anyway. I'm still going through tackle, but I'm doing with a mindset to get down to what works for me. The rest is clutter. HA, good one!
  22. I don't even try to work on these new cars. I used to build and maintain my own race cars and worked on our family cars, but these new ones? Nope. For the most part, you have to have special tools, computers, etc.
  23. Years ago, using the theory that if it works on a C-rig it'll work on a T-rig, I experimented with it on and off for about two years. Now I'm no Larry Nixon, probably not as good as most on this board but, without checking my notes I don't know that I caught anything to speak of using a bead on a T-rig.
  24. Like @Fishingmickey, I wore a Casio G-Shock for years as they will take a beating and keep working. The day I retired was the last day that I ever wore a watch. I couldn't even tell you where my old one is or if I still have it.
  25. My friend, you aren't boring anyone. You post whenever you feel the need. I like getting updates on prayer requests.
