  1. Thanks for the update. Like you, I prefer real books. Fixing to check Amazon right now.
  2. That is 100% true! Thanks for the reminder TnRiver46. You bee doing okay?
  3. I always back in and submerge the bunks to get them wet. Then I pull up until about 1/4 to 1/2 the fender is above the water. Every boat and trailer has it's own sweet spot so you may have to play with it a little.
  4. I've owned a Tracker, the old P/T 185 with a Mercury 90. It was a great boat! No problem what so ever. I'm thinking about buying another Tracker. I've also owned a Nitro that never gave me any issues.
  5. Thanks for all the replies! They do help and I'll check my Wiggle Warts tomorrow or Monday. Thanks again.
  6. I recently read an article concerning the old Wiggle Warts. In the article, it mentioned a molded stamp on the bottom of the originals. Can anyone tell me what I'm looking for?
  7. I too love fishing, mainly smallmouth Bass fishing. Before retiring from Law Enforcement, I truly believe that fishing kept me sane at times. For me, it was an escape, especially if it was one of "those days/ weeks". I have been known to go out, simply to be away, by myself. Kind of like Henry David Thoreau said, "Many men fish all their lives without knowing that it's not the fish they were after". I've been fishing since I was about six or seven. I'm 61 now.
  8. Anyone else notice that BPS has came out with a line of lithium batteries? Group 24, 27 and 31. Prices start at $499.99 with a five year warranty. I'm the first to admit that I don't know anything about lithium batteries, other than they're lighter, smaller and crazy expensive. From the outside looking in, these don't seem to bad. Am I missing something?
  9. Congratulations Koz!
  10. While not in your exact area in AL, I have fished jerk baits on the lower end of Wheeler Lake. It has been my experience that they will work year round, but produce better in early to late spring. If you're not having much success, vary your retrieve or lure color. If the water is fairly cold, don't snap the lure when you jerk it. I've just pulled the lure vs. a hard jerk. You just have to play with it and find the retrieve the bass are looking for.
  11. I use big copper Colorado blades in heavily stained water. They produce!
  12. Rest in Peace Oregon Native. Thanks for all of the advice and entertainment. You'll be missed here.
  13. I couldn't agree more. I bought one of the more expensive models, only to be disappointed. Threw it away after about a year. Bought a Bunn and haven't looked back. Fairly expensive lesson learned.
  14. As a rule, I drink Folger's Black Silk and I brew on the strong side. Drink it straight up black. While at BPS Springfield last October I picked up some Black Rifle, dark. It was excellent.
  15. Caio Emiliano! Welcome to BR. I look forward to reading about bass fishing in Europe.
  16. Like you, I've never given Tackle Warehouse a cent.
  17. With a $150.00 budget, I would tuck the cash back in my wallet. This may take a few weeks or even months, but hit every yard sale that you can find. While I hate the idea of going to yard sales, just not my thing, there are plenty of unadvertised deals to be had. I would also add to my cash stack at every opportunity. Someone might not sell you a cheap Walmart type of kayak they had priced at $200.00 for $150.00, if you have $175.00 they might. Hope this helps.
  18. Brother, one of my regrets is not going fishing with you before moving to AR. Next time I come home for more than a few days, I'm going to be in touch with you.
  19. I follow Luke Dunkin's podcast on YouTube. He's going to be the "on the water" guy for the NPFL. It's kind of a working mans your. I'm kind of excited to follow it.
  20. Exactly which 175 do you have? The TXW has the rod locker up the middle of the front deck and only one place on the to place a butt seat or fishing seat. The live well is on the back deck. The T/F has a rod locker on the front deck, passenger side. It has three places to put fishing seats. The T/F also has a live well on the front deck. Edit, I stand corrected. I just saw a TXW tournament edition's front deck. Looks completely different than the TXW's I was thinking about.
  21. I would love to spend a day on the lake, fishing with Rick Clunn. I would really love to spend a day on a smallmouth river with Ott Defoe in his tricked out jet rig.
  22. Volzfan59, Volzfan, I'm a VFL, Vol For Life. Tennessee Volunteer fan for as long as I can remember. 59, the year that I was born.
  23. Guys, If you can pull it off.....RETIRE!!! I was in Law Enforcement for 32+ years. In 2013, I had had enough so I walked. Best decision I ever made. Down to one blood pressure pill and one stomach pill a day and my stress level is pretty much zero. One strange thing, now that I'm retired, not sure how I ever had time to work!
  24. RIP Ron Lindner.
