  1. My plan for 2021 is to fish more! I have no excuse, I'm retired and have all the time in the world. I can't believe that I only went fishing three times. Going to spend this winter getting my boat ready. Think I'm going to sell my motorized kayak.
  2. I never said that he catches a lot of big fish, just that he uses the Nikko Hellgrammites a lot. John's more of a Henry David Thoreau type, "many men fish all their lives without realizing it's not the fish they're after." That to say, he just relishes being on the water, catching what ever hits, no matter the size.
  3. Jump on YouTube and search for "Creek Fishing Adventures". The guys name is John and he lives in East TN. He fishes small rivers and streams all over and uses the Nikko Hellgrammites a lot.
  4. Strike King makes a decent jerk bait.
  5. I couldn't agree more. It was great to hear from you.
  6. Saw the movie and read the book. Both great!
  7. Well, still unbeaten at 2 and 0!!!
  8. My Vols won! It wasn't pretty at all, but a win is a win.
  9. Praying for you
  10. On thePotomac and Broomstick, I wish you both speedy recoveries and good health. The fish will be there next season. When you can, work on your gear, clean and lube your reels. It will pass time and you'll be ready.
  11. Oregon Native, Thanks for all of your posts and advice. I wish that we could have met while I was living in Knoxville. You find all the good fishing holes and we'll all join you one day. Thanks again, much respect
  12. Holy cow, Mississippi State beat LSU! Didn't see that one coming.
  13. I've always used Roister Tails, with some Panther Martin's thrown in, and have had great success. I used the old Blue Fox vibrex minnow spins several years ago, but I haven't seen them in years. After a suggestion from a friend, I tried the Joe's Fly inline spinners, they flat catch fish too!
  14. My first car was a 1966 Ford Mustang. Great little car. It had a 200 ci, 6 cyl engine with a 3 speed manual.
  15. I will never, ever forget.

    A-Jay, She is beautiful!
  17. I guess I'm just kind of "old school", at least in some respects. I much prefer real magazines and books over online or Kindle offerings. I still subscribe to Bassmaster, B.A.S.S. Times, In-Fisherman and Bass Angler and read them cover to cover. I'm an avid reader and have ended up with quite the fishing library. When comes to magazine articles, if one jumps out at me I cut it out and add it to notebooks. If I don't clip anything, I my old magazines to my wife. She's a nurse in a MD office. Most offices don't have fishing magazines for patients to read. Now hers does!
  18. She was back to a tropical storm by the time she got to southern AR. We have a to of limbs down and no power. That's it for us.
  19. I now live in southern AR, just north of Monroe, LA. They're forecasting winds of 45 mph gusting at 75 to 90 mph per Weather Underground. That plus lots and lots of rain. This is new to me.
  20. That is one sweet vest! A tad pricey at $189.00, but I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for. My vest is an old BPS, $20.00 deal from the late 80's. It is about time to replace it however, hhmmm.
  21. I have tried taking two rods, never worked out for me. It was just to much of a hassle. Like other's, I take one rod, usually light or medium light. I wear a vest like the trout guys use and carry small Plano's in the pockets.
  22. I have one of the old "Humpbacks" that a friend gave me probably 25 years ago. I used it numerous times on Norris Lake in East TN and caught a truck load of smallies. As time wore on, I didn't want to chance loosing it so it now resides on the wall with some Krippled Killers and other old lures that have special meaning to me. Sorry to go off the reservation a little. The Humpback is an excellent lure.
  23. As far as I'm concerned, they will always be the Redskins.
  24. My first real bass boat was a 1997 Nitro 640 with a Force 75 HP on it. She was a great boat and outboard. No problems what so ever, but I take care of my stuff. The only reason that I got rid of it was that I outgrew it. Bought a new 19' Champion with a Mercury.
  25. If you can hold off for a few months, Pradco Lures (parent company of Rebels, Bomber, Bandit, Cotton Cordell, Booyah and even more I can't remember) put tshirts and hats on sale for Black Friday. I just bought a Rapala red, white and blue logo t-shirt. Seems like it was $20.00, with a portion of the price going to Veterans organizations. After placing the order, I've received two emails offering 20% off on shirts, hats and lures. The online lure prices were around $2.00 cheaper than BPS. Hope this helps
