  1. Ive been thinking on using it for topwater/jerks so thats probably what Ill do. I tried it with a 3/8oz torpedo that I use a lot and it threw well and felt good on the retrieve.
  2. X2 I caught 2 22in bass in the same spot within a few casts and they were about a lb apart. The bigger one is my DP.
  3. Ive got a 6'6" M 1/4-5/8 Trigger carrot stick that I can't think of anything to do with although it's a nice rod. Right now I've got: 2 6'6" multipurpose spinning rods 1/8-3/4 6'6"Mmod Trigger 1/4-3/4 for spinnerbaits 7'0"Mfast Trigger 1/8-1 for finnesse jigs/plastics 7'0"MH Trigger 1/4-1 jigs 7'0"MH Trigger 1/4-1 med. to large cranks 7'0"XH Trigger 1/2-2_1/4 for swimbaits/heavy flipping Any suggestions would be great, thanks.
  4. I was ticked because my winter fishing skills were limited so I kept searching and found this site and liked it then joined.
  5. Id say the calculators right, even if its not thats a killer fish. Heres my PB that was 24. Yours looks to be fatter than mine and mine went 7.5-ish.
  6. If you do I wouldnt fool with the old lake. Its warmer but they wont touch anything. The mainlake coves have been the best everytime.
  7. I got to fish today after getting rained out yesterday and had a slow but fun day. I got 2 and had a third shred my craw trailer. My grandpa had a 4+ lber follow his JR7or9 to the boat. The DT16 and a custom jig that a new guy at the bass shop makes got the bites. The water was 41* last time and now it was between 47*-51* so they should snap out of it soon. The jig was a 1/2oz black/blue and the DT was hot mustard. The DT fish was my first on any DT so that was cool. Heres the biggest one today:
  8. Thats a cool idea. Ill definitely try that once they start good.
  9. I like the strike king pro model a lot.
  10. Its just me stealing you lures . Definitely a toothy critter.
  11. Ultra Vibe Speed Craw. I use it when it gets muddy and like it.
  12. Yeah, he was around the lodge every day. Heck of a nice guy. BC ought to pick up in another month. June is the best topwater bite but just before and after is the best for biggies. Ill be up there tommorow if it doesnt rain or sunday. Im expecting the JR7 to do well :-X
  13. His name is Leon Weaver. He guides out of Wingates.
  14. I got back from Lake Seminole last Sunday and had a blast! I havent been able to get on a computer in a while or I would have posted sooner. I caught around 15-20 bass and 7 crappie. Our guide was great and new exactly what the bass were doing. My biggest was around 4 and our guide's was probably 5.5#. They all bit either junebug or watermelon ultravibe speed worms rigged on a 2/0 reg. offset hook with a 1/8 or 3/16 oz weight depending on depth. I threw them on my relatively new Sol/TD L&T BC combo. It did great and I got to break it in. My mom caught some nice fish too. She semed to have fun fishing and had fun talking to our guide. Ill get some pics later when I can get photobucket to work.
  15. I heard about someone putting a fake gator near a ramp for the same reason. They said even though there were no gators that the geese acted on their instinct and went away.
  16. I have X-tools with tungsten carbide cutters. They do a good job and float. Theyre around $8-$12.
  17. Alright, this is all of my stuff: Reels Rods Plastics Okechobee bag+boxes
  18. 58 degrees?!?! Your lucky, I had 39-41. I would suggest a suspending crank that you can work very slowly like a Rapala JR-7 or 9. Im not 100% sure which one I use :-?
  19. I went to BC again today after getting skunked yesterday and barely got one. It was my only bite and it hit a new jig a handtier wanted me to try. It was 16 3/8 inches long but I didnt weigh her. Ill post a pic when my photobucket account works.
  20. The bag that comes with 3 boxes? I have that one. It does the trick pretty well. 8-) Good deal for the money. Nay, mine has 8 boxes and 10 or so pockets. I got SKUNKED >. Our motor went down so we didnt get hardly and time and it was freezing. The Sol casts very well though.
  21. ...but I have been getting new stuff ;D. I got the big Okechobee Fats bag at wallmart, some booya spinners, horny toads, and a few rattle type baits. More importantly I finally got a Sol. That thing is awsome. I put it on my Diawa L&T 7'0" jig rod. It has a lot of backbone so it should be fairly versatile. I get to try it out tommorow on my favorite lake so hopefully Ill break it in.
  22. Id fish a spinner first then go over the better producing places with a jig or wacky rig to make a hawg mad enough to bite.
  23. I wish I could lol. Its going to be a week of no internet and no cell service unless you drive about 20 miles
