A turtle slammed into my grandpas boat a few years ago. Another time a trout was chasing our boat with its fin out of the water so I threw a popper at it, snagged it and got it to the boat where it came off and started follwing our boat again. I think it might have been a little bit .

At the lake I fish all of the fish stick to a common size. I catch 12, 14, 16, 20, and 22 inchers. I rarely catch any between those lengths. Is this the result of good spawns in those years or something else? BTW there are a lot of 12s because it got stocked with about 1400 lbs of them.

Thanks to global warming my favorite lake hasnt froze for the past 2 years. I dont think thats good environmentally but I can fish in the winter :-/

I was wondering if anyone has tried the Diawa Heartland Swimbait rod. Its about $65.00 and since I dont fish a lot of swimbaits it would be a good price for me. And has anyone tried a Pfluger Echolon? I got one at dicks for spinnerbaits/chatterbaits and havent even got line on it yet.

I usually drag a 1/2oz jig. The lake I fish used to have a lower dam and the water would go down almost to the creek beds so I remember alot of places. Now theres a new dam (7 feet higher) and I just fish creek channels, rock piles etc. that used to be abovewater.

Ive used yahoo maps before, its not too bad.

I was using an el cheapo quantum with a 6 inch King Kong and 25# braid. The rod was a 1/4 flex but the Kong barely moved it :-? BTW thanks for the comments

Details... very cold it was. It was one of those days that water freezes on watever lure you recently used and set down for a minute. Early I could only throw a small crank with spinning gear, no luck, so I tried out King Kong and got a 16 inch. After that I could just barely cast my viento about 30 feet max with a 1/2oz jig. I got it nowhere near the brush that I got broke off in on the 21st but hooked into the 5-4. I moved up to a point and, again, got the jig nowhere near it but hooked into the 6-5. Later on after the viento heated up I caught a three off the same brush the 5-4 came out of. I missed a great fish near the ramp on the jig, it felt like I had a stick on until I pulled it up to the boat and it went crazy and unbuttoned . Im thinking that there may be a 24-28 inch at this one spot but I cant fish for about two weeks so shell have to wait. The more productive lures were the strike king black/blue 1/20z rattling jig and the baby bass king kong.

I went to the same lake I always go to and caught 6 bass and my grandpa got 2. My 2 biggest were both 22 inch. The first weighed 5lb 4oz and the second weighed 6lb 5oz. I also caught a 16inch, 2 15s in 2 casts, then another 15. I have to catch and certify 3 more trophy bass to get an award. (trophies are at least 22 inches) Most of the trophys I catch are barely over 22 or just an inch or two over. Is this because there was a good hatch the year they were born :-? I got the two biggest off a chart/white Pure Poison and pretty much every other big one this year with a 1/2 oz blue/black strikeking pro model rattling jig. I had one bigger than either of the biggest fish take me into brush and break off one of the jigs.

Ive got a scale I just dont like leaving fish out of the water for a long time

There should be something because its easy to throw a minnow somewhere and catch a good fish.

I went the same lake I always go to and had a great day. I caught 6, all over 12inches, 5 over 15, and 2 over 20. The biggest was 23 inches and was fatter then my 24 inch PB. Runner up was a 20 inch. Heres the 23, I couldnt weigh her; the guy in the background is probably the best trout fisherman around lol he told me if I got a good one to show it to him. My 24 inch PB: Which do you all think is bigger? The 20: BTW this is the third consecutive trip Ive caught a trophy and the fifth one this year.

Thanks, Im about to post another thread lol. I nearly beat my PB. I weighed one of those fish and it came up 5.5 but I weighed a five # weight and it was off so I made a formula to get a more accurate weight so it was really around 5.8 yay.

Im disliking basspro more and more. Theres a great store a few minutes from my house that I might get a job at in the spring because theyre doing some more store things and need more people. Its got a ton of stuff and its centered towards what works locally. They also have the new Basstrix for $7.00 hiden behind some random fishy stuff ;D.
