How to rig my arsenal?
Yoy have essentially the exact same setup 3 times in those baitcasters. The MH spinning for smaller Texas rigs, the M spinning for Senkos, the ML spinning for Ned Rigs. As for the baitcasters you would have been much better off with a MH/F as a jig, Texas Rig, spinnerbait/chatterbait rod, a M/MF for squarebills, lipless crankbaits, other crankbaits, some topwaters, etc, and either a H/F or a MH/MF depending on many factors in what you like to do. Now you just have a way to rig a worm, jig, heavy wire moving bait all at once instead of versatility.

Why do some Senkos and TRDs feel different than others?
That could be what I'm noticing. At least with Senkos. I noticed it yesterday with TRDs. I use Coppertruese 90% of the time. I got some in Molting Craw to try out and they're a lot stiffer than the others.

Why do some Senkos and TRDs feel different than others?
I'm talking about the same brand, as in the genuine Senkos and the genuine TRDs. Baits of the same size sometimes feel different depending on the color. Some are stiffer than others and you can tell when holding them and rigging them up. What is it about the different colors that causes this?

Abandoned lure thread
No pics for this thread at the moment, but 3 of the last 5 river trips have netted a Booyah lipless crankbait in a craw color, a KVD suspending jerkbait (today), and a Shimano Clarus paired with a Shimano Sonora I pulled out of the river. The lipless was in perfect condition, the rod is in good shape, the reel is trash, and the jerkbait needs new hooks if I ever care to use it. Personally I think it's foolish to use a lipless or a jerkbait in a rocky, snaggy river that averages 3-4 feet.

"Light" jig fishing rod recommendations?
HMG rods are great. 3/8-1/2 isn't light jig fishing. It calls for at least a MH. With a trailer on those size jigs you will max out a MH rod, but it will be just fine. You will seriously overpower almost any M rod with those size jigs with trailers.

Happy Fathers Day
I hope you all had a good father's day. I had a good day. Fished with the family. Not many fish to show for it, but fun as always, and I love these woods. I kept getting sneak attacked for photos. A few: And a homemade card from my 5 year old daughter. I don't understand most of it because we're not moving, and if we were, the dog (Joey) and I would definitely be going with LOL. It's cute though. My wife typed her words verbatim as she said them.

Whats your most productive lure so far in 2019?
Different now than it was in spring. Now it's a jig n craw, followed by KVD 1.5. I guess the Ned Rig catches the most but it really isn't a fair comparison.

New rod
I have had nothing but issues and complaints about mine. I got 5 of them in March and have since sold 3 and kept 2 that I will beat up on the rivers. Worst fishing purchases I ever made. I fell for the cult following. My favorite rod company is Fenwick. I recommend an HMG which is in your price range.

How Long Can You Keep A Fish In A Cooler/fridge Before You Clean It?
Zombie Thread! Do it right and have a catch and cook right away. Take a good knife, butter, salt, a small cast iron skillet, and a reliable fire starter.

Straight shank?
I personally use EWG for everything and rarely miss fish with them. I think the idea that EWG has a lower hookup percentage is greatly exaggerated.

Does Hook Color Matter
I have never experienced hook or weight color to matter in the slightest. Contrary to popular belief and regurgitated information, however, I consistently experience lure color to matter.

What a scare!
Here's that Shimano setup I pulled out of the river. I haven't done anything with it yet. The reel is a Sonora not a Sedona.

Bass Gear for River Fishing?
I usually use gear I like the least on the river, not necessarily cheaper. That has nothing to do with the fish, but the environment. Lots of snags you've got to break off, trees, sand, rocks, other debris. It's always worse on the river. Once in awhile I break my rule and take gear I like better, and it bit me in the rear end yesterday. I have a post on the General forum here about my Elite Tech and Tatula taking a tumble down the dam wall and into the water. I was able to get it back with another rod and quick thinking. I won't be making that mistake again. This year's river gear will be the Fury rods because I hate them, they catch fish all the same but I don't like them and if they break or whatever I don't care.

What a scare!
Funny enough I did pull up a Shimano Clarus paired with a Shimano Sedona there today after mine fell in. The reel is rusted out or is so dirty it looks like rust by the rod is fine. I'll post pics when I'm home. It's a 6'6" M/F. It's super dirty but guides are fine, blank and cork look fine.

What a scare!
I was supposed to go out on a float tomorrow but storms and rain are coming our way, which will last through the weekend, so I stopped by the river dam while my wife did some shopping. The dam is fished via the top of the wall; the water is 5' below the wall. So I'm tossing squarebills and after an hour or so my Elite Tech and Tatula slipped out of my hands and fell down the wall into the water. Somehow the current kept half of the rod floating while is slowly sucked it towards the white water at the dam. I hurried up and grabbed the spinning rod with a Ned Rig tied on and casted it out there and brought it back and wrapped it around the rod as if it was wrapping around a tree branch (see, I know this technique well being that I'm the king of casting into trees). I was able to pull it back up. Moral of the story: there's nothing a Ned Rig can't do.

How to NOT hookset fish in practice
If you don't catch any how do you know the area holds good fish

Rashes, Thorns, etc..
Wow, I didn't know poison ivy could hospitalize people.

Rashes, Thorns, etc..
Could be that you two are part of the 10-15% of the population resistant to poison ivy. I am. Come into direct contact and never had an issue.

What do you throw in this scenario?
Sounds like a great situation for Ned Rigs, crankbaits, jerkbaits, and Senkos.

I'm glad kids are out fishing, but
Man I sure hope everyone is smart enough not to put a random kid in a boat with you without parental consent. A million different ways that can go all wrong.

H2O Double Plopper, 10 pound fish, Chickamauga.
Depends on if it performs the same or not. I'm just an average guy who cringes a little bit when I need more Senkos and the Dingers are right there for 1/3 of the price, but try as I might the Dingers just don't come close to performing like the Senkos so I keep buying Senkos. I'm with you on the Plopper though. I lose them to trees more than I care to admit because I'm wreckless with them on the river, but those nasty places get the good Smallies. When I finally lose the remaining ones I have I will buy Choppos. A hard bait on top of the water making a ruckus is unlike a soft baits performance under the water.

Keitech FAT Swing Impact : 2.8" & 3.3"
I use a lot of downsized baits more often than not too because any bass from under a pound to 5, 6, and my personal best 7 pounds will eat them. I like to fish, and part of fishing is catching fish, and I like to catch a lot of them. Once in a blue moon I'll go fishing with the mentality of "big fish only today" but I don't enjoy that grind nearly as much. I've got zero problems weeding through the smaller ones before getting the bigger ones. Personal best LMBs of 6 and 7 pounds were caught on a 3/16oz spinnerbait and a 4 inch Senko, and personal best 4lb SMB was caught on the Ned Rig. I'm ok with this.
