Cranking Rod
St. Croix Avid AVC66MF is my dedicated topwater/ jerkbait rod. The length and power rating are good for working the lures. The tip is soft to absorb some shock when fighting a fish. This is also a rod I would highly recommend for spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and medium weight crankbaits. The MSRP is $170, but the Avids are occasionally on sale. Reed's offers free shipping and there is no sales tax: http://www.reedssports.com/Product/product.taf?_function=detail&_ID=13255&pc=2286 8-)

Baitcasters...round vs. low profile?
Just trendy. Most of my baitcaters are low profile, but two of my favorite are CTE200GT. They perform the same and feel the same in my normal (medium) hands. You will have to play with them yourself to see which you like...I like both! 8-)

lining a reel
Arbor Knot: http://www.animatedknots.com/arbor/index.php?LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com#Autoblock Put the spool in a box, upright so the line comes off the top, not the bottom. You'll probably need a bottle, glass, a block of wood or something to keep the spool upright, but still free to spin. 8-)

Unbelievable !
What for ???? :-? For them to follow the path of the gazillion senkos I 've got that I don 't fish with ? :-/ The Ananconda is winning some big tournaments, producing above average bass, is highly recommended to you by me and most importantly, probably has never been seen by your pet bass! 8-)

Derivative Markets Explained To The Layman
This explains everything. Subject: Derivative Markets explained for the layman. An Easily Understandable Explanation of Derivative Markets: Heidi is the proprietor of a bar in Detroit. She realizes that virtually all of her customers are unemployed alcoholics and, as such, can no longer afford to patronize her bar. To solve this problem, she comes up with new marketing plan that allows her customers to drink now, but pay later. She keeps track of the drinks consumed on a ledger (thereby granting the customers loans). Word gets around about Heidi's "drink now, pay later" marketing strategy and, as a result, increasing numbers of customers flood into Heidi's bar. Soon she has the largest sales volume for any bar in Detroit. By providing her customers' freedom from immediate payment demands, Heidi gets no resistance when, at regular intervals, she substantially increases her prices for wine and beer, the most consumed beverages. Consequently, Heidi's gross sales volume increases massively. A young and dynamic vice-president at the local bank recognizes that these customer debts constitute valuable future assets and increases Heidi's borrowing limit. He sees no reason for any undue concern, since he has the debts of the unemployed alcoholics as collateral. At the bank's corporate headquarters, expert traders transform these customer loans into DRINKBONDS, ALKIBONDS and PUKEBONDS. These securities are then bundled and traded on international security markets. Naive investors don't really understand that the securities being sold to them as AAA secured bonds are really the debts of unemployed alcoholics. Nevertheless, the bond prices continuously climb, and the securities soon become the hottest-selling items for some of the nation's leading brokerage houses. One day, even though the bond prices are still climbing, a risk manager at the original local bank decides that the time has come to demand payment on the debts incurred by the drinkers at Heidi's bar. He so informs Heidi. Heidi then demands payment from her alcoholic patrons, but being unemployed alcoholics they cannot pay back their drinking debts. Since, Heidi cannot fulfill her loan obligations she is forced into bankruptcy. The bar closes and the eleven employees lose their jobs. Overnight, DRINKBONDS, ALKIBONDS and PUKEBONDS drop in price by 90%. The collapsed bond asset value destroys the banks liquidity and prevents it from issuing new loans, thus freezing credit and economic activity in the community. The suppliers of Heidi's bar had granted her generous payment extensions and had invested their firms' pension funds in the various BOND securities. They find they are now faced with having to write off her bad debt and with losing over 90% of the presumed value of the bonds. Her wine supplier also claims bankruptcy, closing the doors on a family business that had endured for three generations, her beer supplier is taken over by a competitor, who immediately closes the local plant and lays off 150 workers. Fortunately though, the bank, the brokerage houses and their respective executives are saved and bailed out by a multi-billion dollar no-strings attached cash infusion from the Government. The funds required for this bailout are obtained by new taxes levied on employed, middle-class, non-drinkers. Now, do you understand?

Farrah Fawcett dies at age 62
My mother called last night to ask if I wanted her to send me my old table: The Poster I put under glass on its own table, so many years ago. First "Celebrity Love" for sure. Just typing this makes my eyes water... R.I.P. Farrah, we miss you very much.

Line and knots??
I use the Sixteen-Twenty to tie on big, treble hook lures where the Palomar Knot is just too cumbersome. However, the Palomar can be used for all lines and lures. 8-)

ITS BUZZBAITN TIME-CAVITRON
Once I fished the Cavitron, I gave my entire collection of buzzbaits away. As far as I'm concerned, the Cavitron is THE BOMB! I have a range of colors in both the 1/4 oz and 3/8 oz models. My favorite is 3/8 oz Black on Black. BTW, Here's a tip: When the Cavitron gets a pounding, bend it back into shape. Even though it may still look "beat up", it's not. "Old" Cavitrons are just as productive as new lures, maybe even better! 8-)

Michael Jackson
Billy Jean was classic. I used to have parties challenging "Sympathy For The Devil" vs "Billy Jean" for the greatest Rock & Roll songs of all time! The crowd was generally split. (Of course there were other favorites, but these parties were at my house.) The first time Michael "moon walked", the entire nation was jazzed. It was a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame concert. Everyone from the era individually, paired up and as a group. Man, I'm telling you... I remember watching it live and thinking WOW! The man was one of the greatest entertainers of all time...until he got weird. An artist, hell yeah...they're all weird! R.I.P. :'( p.s. A couple of negative posts have been deleted. Stay out of this one if you don't care, because some of us do.

Who will complete the trifecta???
DING...DING...DING...DING....DING...DING...DING... I believe we have a winner! p.s. Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton resigned today. No big deal to the rest of the country, but a MAGIC DAY for us. 8-)

graphite or glass?
You don't need glass for light and medium weight lures. If you fish heavy and/or deep divers, glass is where it's at! My main treble hook rod is an Avid AVC70MM. Another, which could be my "all-around", but for me is my dedicated topwater/ jerkbait rod, is the AVC66MF. For deep cranking, the Lamiglas SR705R is THE BOMB! 8-)
