  1. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  2. ;D ;D ;D WOW! ;D ;D ;D Nice fish, great pic! 8-)
  3. CONGRATULATIONS!
  4. Well, after almost four pages, something seems clear: The "best" color is the one you like! I like some kind of green with black flakes for all baits/ lures most of the time. With jigs, if it's not "green" it's black & blue. 8-)
  5. I think LBH made a video fishing every color he owned, catching fish one after another. 8-)
  6. Ya think? Clue: OPEC is not looking out for YOU, me or us... The stated objective is to "stabilize prices". You may have noticed that "stability" was NOT an objective just a few months ago when the price of oil was hitting an all-time high, everyday! Solution: We need an energy program, NOW! We have the means, we need the will.
  7. WOW! I hope he's right! However, the $147 level was so contrived, it don't think it ever represented "fundamentals". The hoarding facilitated through manipulation of the futures market drove the pricing. To use that figure in the framework of "market correction" might be a little misleasding. ;D ;D ;D ;D
  8. The cheapest posted price in the Memphis area is $2.12, but $2.29 is more common. The Schnucks deal requires purchase at a specific, always overpriced station. I paid $1.95 with my discount, but still, it should have been lower. http://www.memphisgasprices.com/Memphis/index.aspx? 8-)
  9. Thanks for the post! Those are some beautiful smallmouth. 8-)
  10. Nice fish! 8-)
  11. Well, I projected a $60-$80 trading range, but we may see $50. This is the reason (excuse) OPEC gave for cutting production another 1.5MM barrels per day (2MM including last months cut). A lot depends on member adherence to their quotas and more importantly, how the worldwide economic turmoil unfolds. If the recession is long and deep, or turns into depression, all bets are off...Oil would certainly get cheaper, much cheaper. p.s. You might also note that I projected gasoline at the pump to be $1.75 - $2.25. Although prices vary dramatically across the country, we're there in some regions. Retail prices still need to come down! 8-)
  12. Mixed, but mostly largemouth. Ninety plus pounds is really hard to believe, in fact I would not believe it if the weights weren't tournament documented. 8-)
  13. Another beauty! 8-)
  14. EXCELLENT place to start! I was going to suggest the GLX MBR844C/ Chronarch CH50MG. Deep cranking, Lamiglas SR705R/ CTE200GT. For soft plastics, St. Croix Legend Elite ES70MF/ Stella 2500FD. Jerkbaits, topwater, buzzbaits and spinnerbaits, St. Croix Avid AVC66MF/ Shimano Core 100MG. 8-)
  15. Yesterday I read a tournament report from Pickwick Lake. The winning total weight was 91lbs+ for a three day tournament. That size bag is unheard of around here! Topwater was apparently hot, but the key was fishing spoons on ledges. Is anybody here really good with spoons? If you are, please describe how, when and where you fish them. 8-)
  16. Nice fish, nice pic! 8-)

    Welcome aboard! 8-)
  18. Congratulations! Many smallmouth have no markings, but they are generally the color (bronze) of the one in your picture. However, colors vary! Sometimes fish from the same water will be lighter or darker than others and a dark green tinge on the back is common. 8-)
  19. Rick Clunn: "Bass are easy to catch, the challenge is finding them." 8-)
  20. I disagree... Baitcasting equipment: Yo-Zuri Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft #12 Spinning gear: Ultra Soft #6 8-)
  21. This is all you "need", but technique specific rods rigs are more fun! http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1196114229 8-)
  22. Here's the answer: Baitcasting gear: Yo-Zuri Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft #12 Spinning equipment: Ultra Soft #6 Now what's the question? 8-)
  23. ;D ;D ;D ;D $61.38 ;D ;D ;D ;D
  24. Welcome aboard! Adding to a collection is different than starting from scratch, but this might help anyway: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1196114229 8-)
