  1. Welcome aboard! My bet is the water came over the transom. 8-)
  2. That's a beauty! I thought you were headed up to Maine? 8-)
  3. Welcome aboard! Great advice. 8-)
  4. I fish them as a trailer on 1/2 oz GMAN jigs, Micro Munch Tackle jigs and 3/8 oz Shak-E2 jigs. 8-)
  5. Yes, I think so, but I'll ask Craig to be sure. I bought the 1/2 oz in Triple Black, Triple Black & Blue and Watermelon with Black Flakes. 8-)
  6. When you get online you'll see the Grass Jigs are "SOLD OUT". Craig sent me an e-mail this morning stating that he will have more poured in a month or so. -Kent 8-)
  7. Randall, one of our BassResource.com guides and BIG BASS fishermen, uses the reel and highly recommends them. I bought the original several years ago and it sucked. 8-)

    Welcome aboard! 8-)
  9. The brown fish in my avatar were caught using spinning tackle and Yo-Zuri Hybrid #4. However, I don't necessarily consider G. Loomis PR844S saddled with a Stella 2500FB light tackle. I sometimes fish with a St. Croix Avid AS66MLF/ Stella 1000FA which might work for big smallmouth, but bass fishing involves catching a lot of other species on the Tennessee River. This rod doesn't handle 20+ lb catfish, drum, buffalo and striper too well! 8-)
  10. Welcome aboard! Look through this section for everything you need to consider. 8-)
  11. Great thread, nice tone and excellent advice! 8-)
  12. Wrong...The grommet is actually a Ceramic Zirconia ring and is one piece just like the shock ring in a guide. The Line Guide Carrier body is molded around it. If you see a split in it send/take the reel back. Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!! The Reel Mechanic comes to the rescue! Thank you David for all the help you provide for our members. Your expertise is truely appreciated. -Kent 8-)
  13. I have a St. Croix Avid AVC66MF which has a soft tip. The length and action is ideal for working jerkbaits and topwater. This is my favorite "all-around" rod for treble hook lures. Although it is slightly above your target price, Reed's offers free shipping and there is no tax: http://www.reedssports.com/Product/product.taf?_function=detail&_ID=13255 8-)
  14. Spring... Not everyone fishes year around. Our northern friends were just coming out of hibernation. 8-)
  15. Three months on his diet and I would resemble a bowling ball!
  16. snapper G, Geez...Find a new topic... -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  17. Welcome aboard! I'm having some mid-summer luck fishing bigger baits, deeper water and slower presentations. 8-)
  18. I have no idear....that's Southern for "idea". 8-)
  19. Fishing is a blood sport, get over it. We kill a few and eat fish or give them to somebody that will. Killing a fish is nothing to worry over. A huge fish might be something special but the one you caught means nothing. We eat saltwater fish weekly, freshwater fish are no different. DO NOT waste game, but don't fret over it either. 8-)
  20. I keep the Kick-Tail (all 3 versions) in my tackle box to remind me to NEVER buy an informercial lure that "out fishes live bait 4 to 1" or "might be banned from tournament fishing". I did catch a couple of "nothing fish" on the lures which broke them! Just to be an ***, I have had them replaced twice, but I don't fish the lures anymore. STAY CLEAR, the Kick-Tail is not something you need to waste any money on, trust me... >
  21. http://micromunchjigs.homestead.com/welcome.html I see the Grass Jigs are * SOLD OUT * I sent Craig an e-mail and will post his reply. 8-)
  22. Welcome aboard! 8-)
