  1. I would find somewhere else to fish. Otherwise, try this: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1180909581 :
  2. Wow! Those are some fine fish. 8-)
  3. It's just a friendly, neighborhood event...everyone should be cordial and work things out for themselves. 8-)
  4. This is fun to fish: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1180909581 8-)
  5. Paper tournament: catch, measure and immediately release. As a quick example: Best five fish total length, no minimum. Another suggestion, just to keep it simple: Fish wherever you like. 8-)
  6. A few years ago Bassmaster's Magazine members ranked Birmingham, AL "Bass Capital of the World". Nashville came in third. Nashville offers easy access to a number of lakes (Piercy Priest, Center Hill, Cordell Hull, Old Hickory, Dale Hollow) and the Cumberland River. Kentucky Lake and Barkley are within a few hours drive. The Tennessee State Capital has a vibrant economy, all the emenities of a large city and southern charm. There is no state income tax. 8-)
  7. Spro Pro Bronzeye Frog http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_73278____SearchResults 8-)
  8. Now we have LBH throwing a $33 swimbait...No more "Low Budget"! 8-)
  9. Here's another story featuring Mr. George Welcome: http://www.insideline.net/2007/crawford.htm 8-)
  10. Nice fish, great pics! BTW, I was able to view your slideshow on the other thread. Great fish! 8-)
  11. The fish had probably spent its whole life on a ledge near the mouth of the big cove at State Park, near the dam. The fish would not move or come up. We knew from the get-go that this was a big cat. I told my buddy, "cut the line". We drifted a half mile or so out into the main lake and "wasted" about an hour landing the fish. I'll bet yours was a lot more fun! p.s. Great pic, as usual... 8-)
  12. That's a beauty! I don't fish for catfish too often, but still catch a few like that on the Tennessee River when we're hunting smallmouth. My partner caught a 43 lb blue on the lake, G.Loomis ML Bronzeback rod and #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid. I never thought he would land that fish! How much did your's weigh? 8-)
  13. A couple of "must have" trailer suggestions: NetBait Baby Paca Craw GYCB Flappin' Hog 8-)
  14. BPS has Yo-Zuri Hybrid on sale, 600 yards for $4.88. #4 is 8.5 lb test and perferct for what you have in mind. If your water is gin clear, get the green, otherwise I recommend smoke. These colors in this pound test line are virtually invisible. 8-)
  15. Well, I really have a preference for Ultra Soft, but for $4.88 I picked up a couple of spools, too! 8-)
  16. My "all-around" rod for treble hook lures is a St. Croix Avid AC66MF with a soft tip. I also use this rod for buzzbaits and spinnerbaits. The 6 1/2' length is especially comfortable when working jerkbaits and top water. My other rods are all 7'. 8-)
  17. Looks like a great trip, nice fish! 8-)
  18. Hey Russ! Congratulations, great fish! "Ghetto Boy", I like that. 8-)
  19. ;D ;D ;D CONGRATULATIONS! ;D ;D ;D 8-)
  20. With copolymers, fluorocarbon and braid the line doesn't get "old". I fish Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Hybrid Ultra Soft. These lines get changed as needed. I replace 80' - 100' yards of fresh line, the rest is backing. 8-)
  21. This how Gary Yamamoto fishes the Swimming Senko: http://www.insideline.net/articles/swim_senko.html 8-)
  22. Experiment with "identical" baits and run you own test. Buy just one bag of GYCB Senko and the cheaper baits, both in watermelon with black flakes. Fish them back to back so your general time frame, location and bite are close to the same. If there is no difference, the less expensive option is the ticket and you have proven to yourself that "these things work!" That should give you some confidence in your selection. I started fishing GYCB products in 1997 and they are still working for me. 8-)
  23. Hmm... What makes $10 the "magic number"?
  24. This might help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1158577137 8-)
