I was thinking about buying my wife a G.Loomis GLX BCR854 matched up with a Shimano Core, just in case she decides to go fishing...for the first time. : 8-)

Best swimbaits under 1 oz.?
The Mattlures Baby Bass weighs 1.3 oz, but no special equipment is required. Your MH or H bass rod will handle casting this lure just fine even though it is rated just to 1 oz. I have thrown the lure on my G.Loomis MBR844C and a St. Croix EC70MHF without stressing the rods. 8-)

Is the most expensive line always the best line?
In that case, buy a spool of Sunline Defier 13 lb test. It's expensive, but an OUTSTANDING line. http://mikesrxbaits.com/product_detail_T4_R114.html 8-)

3rd Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
First off, my vacancy (cabin) is filled. Second: I bought a 1 lb spool of original Yo-Zuri Hybrid #15 which I will bring to Guntersville. If anyone wants to spool up a baitcaster and give this line a try, leave one reel unspooled for the trip and I will fix you up! Third: I am a non-boater and rather than hustling around for a seat, I am planning to fish a couple of days with someone randomly drawn. I think this will be fun and hope we all (non-boaters) will have an opportunity to fish with some guys we might not otherwise know. If you're in this same "boat" (pun intended), relax! As Glenn has already stated, NO ONE WILL BE LEFT BEHIND. 8-)

Do Expensive Polarized Glasses Make a Difference?
Based on most replies from several other threads, the Costa Del Mar seem to be the overwhelming favorite: http://www.costadelmar.com/store/BVModules/CategoryTemplates/Costa%20-%20Custom%20Sunglasses%20Landing%20Page/Category.aspx?categoryid=606edcb0-0554-414f-a91d-1b5a995d4af1 8-)

Is the most expensive line always the best line?
When lines are compared, like all other equipment, the choice or recommendation generally boils down to somebody's favorite! No doubt, I fit right into that bracket myself. However, many of us have fished a variety of lines over the years. You probably need to try a few and see for yourself how they compare. Lots of guys fish Trilene XL, 8 or 10 lb test on spinning tackle; Trilene XT or Big Game 12- 17 lb test on baitcasters. We have several Cajun Red fans on the board and various braids are big favorites, too. My favorite line for several years was P-Line CXX. I have tried Gamma, Maxima, P-Line Floroclear and many others. What I am looking for in fishing line is strength, durability, manageability and stealth. For me, the "best line" for the trade-offs among these features is Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Hybrid Ultra Soft. In crystal clear water, I fish original Hybrid #4 (8.5 lb test) on spinning tackle. Otherwise, Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (11.9 lb test) on spinning tackle, #12 (19.5 lb test) on baitcasting equipment. I am currently experimenting with original Hybrid #15 on a couple of baitcasters. 8-)

How far should I be able to cast?
25-30 yards is a normal casting distance.

Ika question for RW
;D It's ALWAYS about structure! 8-)

Correct amount of line on reels
1/8" from the lip for spinning reels, "full" for baitcasters. 8-)

Soft Plastic Lures with Scent Chamber
Welcome aboard! GYCB uses a proprietary plastic. Scent, texture and a salty taste are all part of the package. I still apply MegaStike primarily as a lubricant, but it's designed as scent or "fish attractant". One application is good for an entire outing. 8-)

Kistler Magnesium Rods

Line Blowout at Walmart
Give it to someone you don't like. The line is too thick, way too strong and far too stiff for bass fishing. The worst part, you cannot break it even when you want to (hang-ups). are you serious or are you kidding? :-? Serious. My partner bought some for striper fishing on the Tennessee River. We get hung-up A LOT! Even with strong current and fishing from a big boat, he could not break the line. He ended up just throwing it away.
