  1. Thanks! Is there any particular brand of lotion or ointment I should buy in case I break out in a rash? :
  2. I'm intrigued, too. I have never seen anyone fish a spoon this way nor heard anyone talk about it. I'll bet the bass around here haven't seen it either! http://www.bassresource.com/fish/swimmingspoons.html 8-)
  3. Well, if you're not getting hung up, you're probably not fishing the right places! I NEVER have to sharpen single hooks! :
  4. Lucky Craft LV-300 does not have rattles. http://www.luckycraft.com/luckycrafthome/Products/crankbait/lv300s.htm
  5. Hmm... My second choice would be a CH51MG (lefty).
  6. I don't have a Core (yet), but that is what I would get!
  7. I have a Calais, Metanium, Chronarch and two CTE200GT. I like them all. Oddly, my "favorite" is the CH50MG which I don't have! My next reel, the Shimano Core, will probably become my favorite.
  8. Well, since you asked: At the comparable pricing point, the Shimano Symetre or the discounted Stradic would be two reels to consider. Both of these reels are favorites among Shimano fans.
  9. Or traditional T-rig, weedless (Texposed or skin hooked). I rig them with a bead and unpegged which gives the tube a more erratic action.
  10. I wouldn't spend any thime thinking about it. Why would you consider keeping any product that was delivered in less than perfect condition? Get yourself a replacement, pronto!
  11. Spinning tackle: Finesse fishing Baitcasting gear: Power fishing
  12. To cut through the numbers, line capacity is not an issue for bass fishing. What is important is line managability, memory and twist. Higher line diameters are stiffer than smaller diameters and tend to "jump" off the spool. Fluorocarbon can be particularly difficult to deal with. I recommend Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (11.9 lb test). In use, this line has virtyually no memory. Hybrid is a bonded (not coated) fluorocarbon/ nylon copolymer. It is exceptionally strong, highly abrasion resistant, impervious to water & UV light, stealthy and it floats!
  13. I am going to borrow some stuff at Guntersville. Maybe one of Scott's Kistler/ Revo combos and try out Gene's new sponsored rods. Maybe go crazy and fish a Daiwa, too!
  14. New rods, new reels...Woo-Hoo! MERRY CHRISTMAS! 8-)
  15. I spool like you would with a baitcaster with the line comimg off the top, refiller spool on a pencil or upright. Regardless of how you spool, if you can troll your line after respooling, all issues are moot.
  16. You da MAN! MERRY CHRISTMAS! 8-)
  17. Well my friend, that sucks! Don't let it spoil your holiday, MERRY CHRISTMAS! From my family to yours.
  18. Although smallmouth can be found scattered throughout the lake, the "river portion" below Wilson Dam is what people are referring to when they talk or write about Pickwick smallmouth. I fish the Tennessee River below Pickwick Dam which is also referred to as "Pickwick", but technically the water below the dam is Kentucky Lake. Current is the key on all the "river" portions. And yes, we have an abundance of all three bass species. I suggested that getting on a big bite of green fish is usually Kentucky Bass. Largemouth are caught during the winter, but usually not good numbers.
  19. John, you might catch some fish on the minnow, but it's not a "Magic Lure". Generally, a Banjo Minnow will work when almost anything would work better. For the most part, this is a lure you might fish instead of a Slug-Go (fluke).
  20. Great day! When we get into numbers on Pickwick the "largemouth" are usually spots. Either way, that's a great day on the lake, especially this time of year.
  21. HO-HO-HO! MERRY CHRISTMAS! Merry Christmas to all. Be safe and share the joy of this wonderful day. To you and yours, MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
  22. Yep! You only need one Shimano to ride with this gang.
  23. The RatliN' Vibe is definitely "somethin' different" that you should pick up. I also like the LC LV-300 and LV-500Max.
