Hmm... You don't need "high end" to catch fish, the more expensive gear is just for fun. I am an "enthusiast" and have been collecting gear for more than twenty years. My gear is EXACTLY what I like to fish, but has very little to do with "catching".

Around here (Tennessee River) the fish are 15'-20" and we are on them with soft plastics, specifically the Rage Tail Thumper.

Yeah! One of my all time favorites... On the other hand, I HIGHLY prefer fishing with other guys.

Well, here in Tennessee , if I catch a 12# smallmouth it will be THE WORLD RECORD.

Every year I promise myself I will fish everything I own one time. Thirty years later I am 95% behind. I am still going to fish one of those lures...maybe.
