Try my method: Cast and let the lure float to the bottom. Keeping the angle of your rod at 10:00, reel quickly about 5 rotations, lean forward and allow the bait to fall on slack line. If it makes it to the bottom, repeat. Fish the bait back until you feel you are "out of the zone".The strike is ALWAYS on the fall and difficult to detect until you have some experience fishing the lure. No need for a Bill Dance hook-set, use a quick set or reel set.
