  1. With all the options available today, at virtually every pricing point, there is no reason to sacrifice beauty for function.
  2. No need to downgrade or buy knock-offs, Another alternative is simply having the discipline to buy tackle ONLY when it is on sale. Over the years the majority of my rod and reel purchases have been from BassResource.com members in our Flea Market. Some of my most recent scores are McSticks on sale at Academy for $4.98, Tatsu for half price and Siebert Outdoors jigs for $1.75.
  3. The rout resumes: WTI $33.93

  6. Secret #2 Fish the tube on spinning tackle and Yo-Zuri Hybrid #4 (8.5 lb breaking strength) or Tatsu #8. This will increase your hook-ups by at least 50%.
  7. Well, I am a little reluctant to give this one up, but I have mentioned them before: BPS Tender Tubes #71 rigged on an internal weight/ hook: Owner Phantom Tube Hook.
  8. I carry two Plano 3700 boxes in my bag ready to go. The rest of my 5 year inventory is kept in original packages on a peg board in the Man Cave. Well...then there are a few cardboard boxes with my "spares".
  9. I'm just about excited about the teams we have left to rout against! GO BRONCOS!
  10. I used to think line ratings were important and perhaps they still are on the low end. However, as the popularity of braided line has increased, the emphasis has shifted to the drag setting. 40# and 50# braid is commonly used on baitcasting rods which exceeds all recommendations.

  13. The only rod I own shorter than 7' is a dedicated jerkbait rig, St. Croix Avid AVC66MF.
  14. I don't think I am a better angler than most of the guys I have fished with, but my greatest pleasure has been putting several of them on their Personal Best. That includes several Forum members. A couple of years ago our very own Glenn May hooked up with the biggest largemouth bass I have ever seen in person during a BassResource.com Roadtrip at Pickwick. He fooled that girl with a Siebert Outdoors spinnerbait. http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Cosmic-Double-Willow-Spinnerbait-405.htm
