Your Jigging Setups?
My main rig is a G.Loomis BCR854/ Curado 200E supertuned/ Kanzen with a Tatsu #20 leader. My dedicated weighted soft plastic rig would also be considered perfect for jigs: G.Loomis GLX MBR844C/ CTE100GT supertuned/ Tatsu #20. For swim jigs: MBR842C/ Core 50E/ Kanzen #20 with Tatsu #15 leader. Lastly, for hair jigs: Dobyn's Champion 683C/ CH50MG/ Tatsu #12.

Need Help With Tubes And Grubs Please
The internal weight makes a tube almost completely weedless. Depending on the length of the tube, I use either a standard 3/0 or 4/0 EWG Offset Worm Hook.

Might Dip My Toe Into The Shimano Pool
I am with Jeff on this. If the money is not a big issue, go with the Core. Otherwise the Curado upgrade by DVT will meet all your needs and expectations. Another suggestion for increasing casting distance is the G.Loomis BCR or NRX 893. I have my supertuned Curado 50E matched with the BCR and Tatsu #10. This rig launches soft plastics, especially aerodynamic lures like a Fat Ika or Senko.

Storing Rod Setups Away For Sometime
Hmm... I would be interested to hear what some of our reel techs think of this. The moly products I saw on a brief net scan seem too heavy for fishing reel applications.

Swim Jigs
Best for me right now is the 3/8 oz NorthStar Original Swim Jig (bluegill) with a Rage Tail Shellcracker trailer.

Brittle Flourocarbon
The high end fluorocarbon lines will actually improve with use over time. The only times you will need to replace line is when a backlash creates a kink in the line or you simply need more line. If you are spooling with fluoro as you mainline, use backing and no more than about 60 yarda of fluorocarbon. This will give you 3 spoolings from a 200 yard package. If you are only using the fluoro as a leader, tie the connecting knot a few inches above the reel with about 6" or so beyond the tip.

This Takes Me Back
Different strokes for different folks. I didn't make it as long as Jeff.

Glass Vs. Graphite
Graphite for your stated purpose. Specifically Pinnacle Perfecta DHC5-701BAMCB or St. Croix AVC70MM. For deep cranking and bigger lures, glass. Specifically the Lamiglas SR705R.

One Brand
My rods are mostly G.Loomis and St. Croix. I have been very pleased with both of these companies. The design, engineering and craftmanship is top notch, but more importantly their customer service is outstanding.

Flw Ban On Umbrella Rigs?
Well, on a positive note... Get your A Rig going if you want to catch some size. Unless you are fishing the circut, who cares?
