  1. It feels like the pain is concentrated at the tip of the bone on the inside of my left elbow. However, the issue is actually with irritated or inflamed tendons.
  2. I prefer the 16/20 also know as the Pitzen and Duncan Knot: http://www.animatedknots.com/duncan/
  3. WOW! Those are some beauties.
  4. Excellent advice! I have talked with a couple of doctors, including my son. They basically said I just have to give it up for awhile.
  5. #4 Yo-Zuri Hybrid is another option. The line diameter is .009", breaking strength is 8.5 lbs. The fish in my avatar were caught using this line. This one, too: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/lake-guntersville-2012.html
  6. I have to put myself on "Injured Reserve" for a month or so. I have developed a bad case of fishing elbow. A few weeks ago we got into a big striper bite throwing a custom built bait ball which is a gigantic A-rig. The combination of casting this big rig and getting slammed by 20+ pound fish has taken its toll. I tried to push through it, but that isn't working. The fall smallmouth bite will kick into full gear around the middle of October and I want to be ready. No more fishing until then.

As an orignal Chiefs fan, Wolf Pack 1965, I have always hated the Raiders. I hope they will continue to suck. Right now, Oakland is probably the WORST team in the NFL. I suspect they will upset a team or two and go 2-14. Maybe some other team will compete for the cellar, but I'll bet on Oakland.
  8. For enthusiasts, technique specific gear is fun to collect. However, three rigs cover all the basics: #1 6 1/2' or 7' MH baitcaster for jigs, some soft plastics and spinnerbaits #2 6 1/2' or 7' MM baitcaster for treble hook lures #3 7' MF spinning rod for lighter lures and a variety of techniques
  9. I tried it on your advice. This is GREAT braid. However, I have had the opportunity to use Kanzen and like it better, especially in some of the lighter lines.
  10. As your skills improve you will eventually have the spool tension loosened just to the point where the spool doesn't wiggle. That's wide open. For the most part, setting the brakes is "one and done" on Shimano reels unless you are using the same rig for vastly different weighted lures. The spool tension is sometimes used to make slight adjustments for wind.
  11. I use the bait keeper when I'm fishing and cut the lure off when I'm done. New knot every time and occasionally throughout the day. I replace leader as needed.
  12. Both Siebert Outdoors and NorthStar build GREAT swim jigs. For trailers I like the Rage Menace and Shellcracker. Another excellent option is the back half of a GYCB Swimming Senko.
  13. I have not been broken off, but I use a leader so I CAN break the line when I need to. Plug knockers are at least 95% effective on the lakes, but not always an option on the river. Getting hung up below Pickwick Dam in strong current and boat traffic is the prime example.
  14. WOW! Geat pic!
  15. Original "Ray Scott" custom rod $120; Shimano Symetre 500 FJ $110.
  16. "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." -Neil Armstrong Well, the Road To The Super Bowl started in Denver last night. Peyton Manning set a new standard for a long time master. Seven touchdowns and 462 yards to crush last year's champions, the Baltimore Ravens. Can the Broncos run the table? It's a long season and the only game that really counts is the last game, not the first. This was a great start to open the season.

  18. You will need backing or tape, otherwise the braid will slip. That might be what happened to the guy that told you not to use braid on the reel.
  19. Great advice! My personal preference is hard jerkbaits.
  20. Can't argue against black & blue, but a couple of friends turned me on to PBJ last year and that combination is killer, too!
  21. 12 lb 1 oz smalljaw!
  22. No doubt what-so-ever in my mind
  23. Seems to me the proof is in the pudding. Strong conferences attract better talent across the board, but especially coaching.
