  1. That's probably exactly what happen.
  2. Woo-Hoo! Congratulations!
  3. MegaStrike
  4. If you fished with Glenn or Keri, please check your gear. We are missing two combos that may have been left behind on your boat. One is a St. Croix Avid AVC70MM/ CH50MG, the other is a G. Loomis PR844S/ Stella 2500FD. Thanks! -Kent
  5. YOU WON! Big Fish Jacket and Hat, custom size.
  6. Agreed, there are many companies that produce quality products, but some stand above the crowd. GYCB comes to mind. Hudd, Mattlures. Keitech, Huddbaits, MegaStrike, Roboworm, Mizmo, Larew and YUM. Obviously there are many more that are someone's favorite and perhaps some of the custom pours reach this level, but they are the exception, not the rule.
  7. The best time to experiment with a new lure is when you are on a big bite with something similar. For example, if you are having some luck with the RageTail Lobster, switch to the Smokin' Rooster, Space Monkey or Rage Hawg.
  8. Re-read this link: http://www.***/apps/forums/topics/show/8387845-setting-brakes-and-spool-tension
  9. I store all my "reserves" in the man cave. I carry one 3600 bag which keeps the selection down below 100 baits, lures and terminal tackle .
  10. Generic baits have very little in common with Rage Tail soft plastics. If some particular shape is all you care about why not make it out of a discarded old tire? Then it's free!
  11. No doubt! I would suggest "skipping" the baitcaster and using a spinning rod.
  12. I don't think there is a whole lot of money paid for guys using a leader. Seems like a lot of guys here consider using a leader is an advantage. I'm still on the fence, but right now I'm using leaders on most rods rigged with Tuf-Line or Seaguar Kanzen braided line.
  13. I should have mentioned Bobby's MegaBug for a trailer, too. The first time I ever fished this bait was with ghoti on Kentucky Lake. The first fish was a 5lb smallmouth!
  14. Witnesses my man: Alpster, Long Mike, Glenn & Keri...And not 8, 7lbs 7 oz. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/lake-guntersville-2012.html
  15. The AVC66MF is the perfect blend!
  16. The best bang for your buck is Yo-Zuri Hybrid, #6 for spinning tackle, #12 for baitcasters. Mainline fluorocarbon: spinning = Seaguar InvizX #10; baitcasting:= Seaguar AbrazX #12 My suggestion is Tuf-Line for your mainline with a Tatsu leader. I have a post running on setting this up. I think you will find this approach to be the PERFECT solution!
  17. If it's 30lb braid you will be fine. 30lb monofilament or copolymer is too heavy for most lures 3/8 oz and less.
  18. If you are not fishing Tuf-Line, you need to give it a try, especially for only $4.99 shipped!
  19. First of all, The Evolution Jig is unique. The design forces the trailer to stand tall and not roll over. A Rage Craw or Lobster is the perfect compliment to this jig. I prefer fishing a hard bottom, pea gravel or rocks as opposed to wood. The design of the hook configuration results in a VERY high hook-up ratio, but this also makes the jig prone to snags, especially branches and stumps. In a boat you can recover something approaching 100% by getting behind the snag and/or using your plug-knocker. From the bank, you will lose some jigs.
  20. Remarkable! Congratulations!
  21. Sounds like a great day to me!
