  1. As Hooligan pointed out: "What makes the D Shad so unique, too, is the way they fish almost like a Senko on the drop. The tail really quivers and jiggles unlike any other bait in its class. They also glide very wide, similar to the caffeine shad, and boom r ang".
  2. The Slug-Go was revolutionary when it was introduced decades ago. Today GYCB has ""built a better mouse trap". In this category, nothing compares to the D Shad. You can always go back to whatever you are currently fishing. but do yourself a favor and give this bait a try!
  3. The Avid AVS68MXF is an outstanding rod and something you will treasure.
  4. Shimano builds the Citica. The low bid builds Bass Pro products. Bass Pro Shops is a retailer, they don't actually make anything. Shimano designs and manufactures all of their reels. They have built a reputation among fishermen who care: Strong, smooth, silent and reliant.
  5. Keep it light. You will love this combination: CH50MG
  6. Great components on these lures!
  7. That's a great fish anywhere!
  8. I think Yo-Zuri Hybrid is a great line at a great price, I'm just experimenting with some other options right now. Thr braid/ fluoro leader has impressed me. We'll see how that works out over the next few weeks.
  9. Well, shoot! I was going to reference a Fish Chris article on his website, but he has apparently taken it down. At any rate, live bait fishing is what you make of it, really no different than fishing artificial lures.
  10. I'm experimenting with a few new to me set-ups: Pure Tatsu #20 on a worm rod Tuf-Line #10/ Tatsu #6 leader on a spinning rod for weightless sof plastics Tuf-Line #20/ Tatsu #20 for swim jigs and small swimbaits Kanzen #30 on a jig rod I'm leaning towards braid with a leader on everything.
  11. Spinning: St. Croix LES70MF/ Stella 2500FE/ Tatsu #6 weightless soft plastics Baitcasting: G.Loomis MBR842C/ Core 50MG/ Tuf-Line #20/ Tatsu #20 leader swim jigs and small swimbaits
  12. Depends on your price range, but a Citica would be a great starting point.
  13. I fish the Baby Craw T-rigged, naked. The Craw and Lobster Rage Rigged, Mojo or Jika. However, I NEVER fish a jig without a trailer.
  14. No, it floats as a result of "surface tension". From a fishing perspective Yo-Zuri is neutral. Without a lure or weight the line will remain on the surface, but once submerged it will not float up. This has absolutely no impact on any fishing application.
  15. Here is a secret tip: In a big voice, sceam out "This is my last cast". Then wait a minute or so and cast again...The fish will think you're gone!
  16. Well now...Do you have any pictures of a big fish?
  17. The weedguards are long and stiff, so you have every option to custom trim them to your liking. It's just my preference, but I cut them off. I don't feel a need for a weedguard on swim jigs and think they look "cooler" withouth them!
  18. 4000 series for freshwater? I think you will find the 2500 MUCH more user friendly.
  19. I wish you guys could make it to Pickwick...We're going to catch a lot of bass and some of them will be GIGANTIC. I anticipate 50+ days, lots of 6-8 lbs and a couple of DDs. Pickwick is on fire!
  20. My wife and I are gardeners, too! I have given up golf and hunting.
  21. My #1 crankbait is the Norman Fat Boy, Redear
  22. I'm packing for three and it's all ready to go!
  23. I have been fishing #4 & #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid for years. I am currently experimenting with #10 Tuf-Line with #6 Tatsu leader. Results to be posted after a few outings on this rig.
  24. Send me a PM with your mailing address. I cleaned up some other boxes last night, so I will be sending you an assortment of other stuff, too. -Kent
