  1. Hmm... $45K or $50K on a truck when $25-$30K would have been just fine? $8,000 on four wheel drive that you use twice a year or never? $2,500 sun roof and you usually keep the lid shut, especially in the summer? $800-$1200 tires that you replace every 2 or 3 years? Nearly every Stella owner will fish that reel the rest of their life. :
  2. Well... http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1298229483 ;D ;D ;D
  3. The Curado is a no-brainer, but if you want something different: CH50MG. This reel is very special to Shimano fans. You can find one NIB for less than $200. Better yet, "lightly used" for ~$150. Either way, have the reel serviced if it has been sitting around for awhile. Personal rating: 10+ 8-)
  4. Technically, 50 yards if anchored. I prefer several hundred yards and always behind, not in front of a leading boat. 8-)
  5. Hmm... 1000FA, 2500FD and 2500FE Perfect in every way. No "lifetime warranty" does not mean that Shimano will not address a problem. I have found their customer service to be exceptional. Our ole friend, Dan Thornberg is a designer and head of Customer Service. If you have an issue with Shimano, contact him direct...Dan answers the phone! 8-)
  6. This is what I use: Gamakatsu Round 26 A standard all around jig head design, it features a long shank 90 degree jig hook and a round head with two keeper rings to prevent the bait from sliding off, but won't tear up thinner, softer baits. The NS Black hook comes in size 1/0 with a 1/16 oz., 1/8 oz., 2/0 with a 3/16 oz., ¼ oz., and 3/0 with a 3/16 oz. and a ¼ oz. well finished round head.
  7. White Sox/ Cubs? Seems like a subject for a NEW thread.
  8. Forget about Pickwick, the birds are still there.
  9. The wholesale cost for TW and BPS are the same or very close. TW is just a better deal, period!
  10. Depends on your budget... G.Loomis NRX 803 JWR, GLX SJR783S or SJR843S Less expensive, but still "high-end" St. Croix Legend Elite LES70MF Next... Avid AVS68MXF or AVS70MF 8-)
  11. i never seen anyone talk about swim senko i do use them but not that often to see good results TOP SECRET Rig on a 1/4 oz jig head, paddle down. Cut the Swim Senko so the hook comes out just in front of the smooth plastic on top. Make sure the bait is straight and "smooth", not bunched up. Don't "work" the Swim Senko. What is required is to let the bait sink to your desired depth and then a steady retrieve. Fish the bait in, on and around cover or structure. 8-) p.s. Try a dab of JJ's chartreuse on the paddle, sometimes that helps!
  12. Last summer I had great luck with the Eeliminator. 8-)

  15. The same as Tuesday of this week: If I could chose just one lure to own it would be the Megabass PopMax. For the rest of the water column, LC Pointer, Norman Fat Boy, XCalibur Xr50, Bandit 200 or 300 and the DD22. 8-)
  16. You should be working for In-Fisherman.
