For most people, Spring is their favorite/ most productive season. Why? Tons of bass are up shallow and active. For most guys it's easy pickin's! Lures? Pick your favorites, almost anything works. Some of the best are soft plastics, topwater, jerkbaits, buzzbaits, shallow crankbaits, spinnerbaits and jigs.

Well, the pros don't need any advice from me, but the rest of us don't need to be changing hooks on every new lure. It really depends on the brand and specifically, on the hooks they use. 8-)

Hmm...I guess disposable reels are sexy. The most interesting thing is guys buying reels from companies that have a well established reputation for NOT supporting their reels in the aftermarket. Strong, smooth, silent and reliant...Shimano. 8-)

So silly...I have a River2Sea that is a bass magnet. This will be year three. I'm sure some other quality frogs are a " better value" over time than a Kermit. Try the Rage Tail Toad and report back. 8-)

As a matter of fact, the women are generally treated better than the guys! Jump in and stir things up. You are encouraged to participated in all the sections, not just this one. Best of both worlds: original Yo-Zuri Hybrid #4 ~8.5 lb test! Green is virtually invisible in gin clear water, purple smoke is the best choice in stained water. However, Green, smoke or clear will be just fine in any water, pick the one that compliments your rod & reel combo. 8-)

Yo-Zuri Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft #6, ~11.9 lb breaking strength. 8-)

I found both lines very manageable, matched rated strength and Has no issues with abrasion. When I think I need fluorocarbon, these are the two I will fish. Back to Yo-Zuri again...A fundamental advantage of the line is it's actual breaking strength. Generally I think this feature outweighs other factors, especially in the smaller diameters. In gin clear water I can't see #4 original Hybrid and #12 is still stealthy! 8-)

Yo-Zuri #12 will be perfect. Try the P-line, too, the cost of both brands is low. I use to fish P-Line until I found Yo-Zuri five or six years ago.
