High End Spinning Reel - which shimano model is comparable to the daiwa steez
Steezy, Get the FD, you will like it a lot, promise. There is no "value" rating on this reel. Fishing this reel is like holding "girl thingy" in your hand. 8-)

What an awesome video.
And #3 Why does dad keep messing with his rod while his boy is fighting the big fish? "Put it down!" He was driving me crazy. 8-)

I'm glad you brought this up, the scam has been going around for quite some time. "If it's too good to be true, it probably is." >

Pond Choked With Lillypads
Me like the Fat Ika! Another couple of suggestions: Rage Tail Shad and 10" Anaconda fished weightless on top of the pads. 8-)

I have taken care of it.

Spanish...
It's all about your scoring on the MCAT. My son had a 33, virtually all options were open. 24 "might" get you in somewhere, 27 is solid and any better score is a lock. If you would consider a military commitment, you can live like a king! 8-)

Thanks for the clarification. (If you haven't already, you might want to post this on nybass, too.) -Kent

Spanish...
My son has degrees in both Molecular Biology and Anthropology. He is fluent in Latin (?), Spanish and Russian with some exposure to Thai language and Swahili. He is now 2nd year Medical School and working in Tuscon in a predominately Hispanic clinic. Unless you are a teacher, NO ONE will care about your "minor" in Spanish. If you can read it, write it and speak it, you're good- to-go. 8-)

Just one more cast...well maybe one more...okay just one more.

I hate this time of year
Well, in other parts of the country fall is mild and beautiful. It's my favorite season! Football and the Prime Time fishing for smallmouth in this region. Good luck hunting! 8-)

Help with technique specifics...
You only "need" three rigs, 6 1/2' - 7": Medium Power/ Fast Action spinning tackle: All weightless soft plastics and light lures. Medium or MH/ Moderate Action or Fast Action with a soft tip: All Treble hooks. MH or H Power/ Fast Action: Jigs and weighted soft plastics. 8-)

Swimbaits for good sized fish
Just how do you fish this RW or anyone ? Like a Rattletrap more or less ? Im gonna try it. Mark Yes...You don't "work" the Baby Bass, the lure imparts its own action. I prefer fishing structure in what might appear to be open water. The theory is a "lost" baitfish out where he doesn't belong. Otherwise, anywhere you would fish a crankbait or spinnerbait. 8-)

Worm/Jig Rod Question
For weightless soft plastics get a Medium Power/ Fast Action spinning rod/ Shimano Symetre or Stradic. 8-)

The Bait monkey
It's magic! Many of your posts and those of others are just a result of The Monkey's mind bend. You make them, He is credited. 24,000+ members...It's magical. ;D ;D ;D 8-)

Swimbaits for good sized fish
Mattlures Baby Bass This lure does not require special equipment. I use a MH bass rod. 8-)

Worm/Jig Rod Question
I don't think you "need" technique specific rods, but like flechero, I like to use different rigs, too! However, my main rig is a St. Croix ES70MF. 8-)

New rod tip?

Thanx for the advice--fish different lures
Wow! Congratulations! ;D ;D ;D

Need to vent my frustrations...
25-30% of the line's breaking strength (within the parameters of the rod). Specifically, 2 1/2 - 4 lbs for me. 8-)

Need to vent my frustrations...
To keep a fish fromjumping: When you feel or see the bass coming up, pull her towards you forcefully. Lower your rod tip into the water and reel quickly. To stay buttoned: NEVER let a fish stage. She should be pulling drag or coming your way. Maintain pressure at all times: slack line = a lost fish. 8-)

What an awesome video.

Lake management Co. said to cull some bass....so I did.
Every situation is different, but I think Ray Scott's advice is to "Take them out until you think you have taken too many, then take out 30% more." http://www.bassresource.com/fish_biology/selective_harvest_bass.html 8-)
