Looking at the Zillion HD to put on my Orochi XX Perfect Pitch. How does this reel handle pitching 3/8 and 1/2 ounce jigs? I already have a Jdm Zillion SV I use for crankbaits. Not sure if I should go with the HD or just get another SV. What are the difference’s in the USDM and JDM HD’s?

Yes maps is the only difference. I have the GT54 with mine and I get great images. The GT56 is slightly better but I’m not sure if it’s $400 better or not. There are a couple videos out comparing the 2. Google it and check them out.

I usually have 6 or 7 on the deck of my 1448 Jon boat.

I have the 704 and the 705 Glass. After trying many rods the 704 has become my favorite for throwing Spro Little Johns, anything bigger I use the 705. Have no experience with the Graphite version.

You don’t have to ship the broken rod back. All they ask for is a picture of the break, model number and serial number.

Bill Lewis for me. Could be a confidence thing because I’ve probably caught at least a dozen bass between 5 and 8 pounds on them. Come with better hooks as well.

I have mine on a Tatula Elite 7’ Med/MH. I use 12lb FC and I haven’t tried 1/16 yet, but with a 1/8 weight and a power worm I get noticeably more casting distance with the Alphas than I did when I had a 20 Tatula SV on that rod. 1/16 with 6 lb line is BFS, while the Alphas handles light weights well, I wouldn’t recommend it for BFS.

I also recommend the Kistler Helium. You won’t find a better rod in your price range.

Caught a lot of bass on various crankbaits this year but probably caught the most on a 3/8 peanut butter and jelly jig with Green Pumpkin Zoom Ultravibe speed craw trailer.
