Kistler Rods
I just noticed that they were 40% off. That’s an excellent deal. You won’t find another rod in that price range that’s as light and sensitive, assuming that the new blanks are as good as the NFC blanks.

Kistler Rods
I have a MH Helium 3. Best jig rod I’ve ever owned. I bought it on sale a couple years ago for around $220 I believe. I have no experience with the new blanks but they’ve raised the price on them too much for me.

Jig fishing: prefer braid or fluoro? Advantages of each?
I use a Uni knot with FC and I can’t recall ever having a knot fail. Also be sure that you wet it really good before you cinch it down.

Jig fishing: prefer braid or fluoro? Advantages of each?
I use straight FC for jigs, I like the slack line sensitivity it gives.

Help me make a decision
I’d recommend the pond prowler. I fished out of one for 5 years. They are four foot wide which makes them very stable. I never had a problem with wind in mine. I used mine on an 3100 acre lake regularly. I stayed back in the creeks mostly but when I wasn’t I’d just turn and face the wake if a big boat went by. Never had a problem. The pond prowler is also easier to mount a trolling motor to and you don’t have to worry about paddling . I used a utility trailer to haul mine though because I left the motor, batteries and fish finder on it all the time.

No braid for crankbaits. You want something with a little give to it. I use 10lb copoly.

How do you decide crankbait vs bladed jig?
Crankbait for me all of the time. I’ve given up on Chatterbaits, never had any luck with them and they snag too much where I fish.
