i am imagining it with a roof rack and my Hobie Outback on top.

190 hp, and 50 mpg.  win win!!  i just got back from a Texas road trip.  fuel was $2.75ish over there!!  over here, it is more "nose bleed" levels.

i think toyota hit it out of the park.

so no Target or Walmart shopping?  and those USA made fishing reels are SMOOTH.

:D.

Yeah, it has a nice look. We just test drove a 2023 Toyota Venza (hybrid) and think it will be the next daily driver for the family.

I don’t know about the Prius, but the Tundra is more made in America than the big three.

It's a cute little thing and 50 mpg is nice.

I believe Ford has taken over that title but, at one time, you were correct.

When I had my '08 Tundra in for service, on a few occasions I got a Prius loaner. Tons of room in the drivers seat for a big guy like myself. Tundra was in for warranty service probably a dozen times. The SuperDuty just had it's first repair done last week to replace the water pump at 75K. Nothing against Toyota, bad experiences with the Big 3 is what drove me to them. As of right now, when I get rid of the Ford in another 5-10 years, Ford will be my next choice

The Tundra is number 10 on the list of most American made vehicles. There are 4 Honda models in the top 10.

I’m sure every list is different depending on the site. I was pretty far off on the Tundra. This list is quite surprising. Like you were saying Honda ranks up there. I found a list for specifically trucks, the Colorado was 1, the Ridgeline was top 5, Tundra was 6.

Here’s the list I was referring to for overall vehicles.

Prius is #1 on the list of most stolen catalytic converters here because of the valuable precious metals used to make them. If you own one, don’t park it anywhere.

Probably has less to do with the platinum itself and more to do with the lack of usage. The catalytic converter in a hybrid will last longer than one in a gasoline powered engine. Odds are there will be more recyclable platinum in the Prius converter because it is used less.

Yeah, that list is a lot different than the one I looked at.

i know a younger fisherman that puts a Native Max 10 kayak into the back of his Prius.  getting 50mpg he fishes all the bodies of water.  i see his car at lakes all over.  it barely fits and he has to tie down the rear hatch.  there are lakes i want to try by the gas price gives me pause.

Then buys a $300 fishing pole?

I took a 15’ canoe to the Atlantic Ocean on a Honda fit, 30+ mpg. Might have saved 2-3$ if I stuffed it in the back with the hatch open  like jed clampet

pick your battles wisely (and close all car doors before shifting into drive)

That depends on if you take the red pill or the blue one

Oh god not the blue\red pill debate. I feel Alex Jones is waiting in the wings-Hillary's a lizard person and her people rigged charges in tower 7.
