  1. Search for Daiwa Gillion on US Amazon, there a 3 in stock for 201.85
  2. Amber or blue
  3. Most of my biggest bass have been caught on a Lipless crank. All on a steady retrieve.
  4. Bill Lewis mostly. Occasionally I’ll throw a SPRO or a Booyah.
  5. I tried Tatsu for the first time last year, it’s a really good line but I didn’t see much difference between it and the P-Line Tactical line I’ve been using the past few years. I use 12 lb so not sure about the bigger diameter lines though.
  6. I totally agree. The odds of getting a defective upper end Diawa or Shimano are pretty slim. Even if work was needed on the reel, you could have it repaired out of pocket and still come out ahead by buying JDM.
  7. As long as the rod has a one year warranty I’m happy. Any defects from the manufacture will cause a breakage within that time.
  8. I have no interest in BFS but I do like saving money by buying JDM. Why pay 370 for a reel when you can get the same one from Japan for a little over 200?
  9. I use mine for light Texas rigs and it works really well
  10. I’ve loved bass fishing since I was a kid. It’s fun and it’s my therapy.I’ve fished for other species and it just doesn’t do much for me. I have always had less than zero interest in tournament fishing.
  11. 24 lbs of drag isn’t needed for bass fishing reels.
  12. I agree on the Striker. I have a 93SV on the bow of my 2016 175twx. If you can afford to spend a little more, the 9 inch is definitely worth the extra $100
  13. I always have at least 4 crankbait rods rigged up and several Texas rig/Jig rods with me on my boat.
  14. I would dig up night crawlers under the dried cow pies on the farm I grew up on. Then I would ride my bike to a neighboring farm pond down the road or either a private lake a few miles away. Used a pistol grip rod and a Zebco 404. Early teenage years I started using a spinning combo and discovered plastic worms and the Texas Rig.
  15. Flatside and Lipless crankbaits
  16. I use a Steez Power pitch for 3/8 and 1/2 ounce jigs and love it for pitching. It’s 7’2 . I also have a Megabass Orochi xx Perfect pitch. Nice rod except it’s too heavy.
  17. He must have had his brakes turned all the way up. SV reels are harder to backlash, but they still need thumb control, especially right before the lure hits the water.
