  1. I use a quality copolymer for Lake Erie smallies. My plastic setup is a pair of Dobyns Champion XP 733SF's, with Daiwa Tatula LT 4000's. What's nice about the Tatula LT 4000 is that it still weighs under 7.5 ozs (7.4 oz), so i get a larger reel, with a large diameter spool, and still stay "lightweight". I like a larger diameter spool when using mono. Waaaaaaay less line problems. "memory" is reduced a great amount. Many guys like using a larger size reel when using spinning. for inland lakes, I use a Pair of Shimano Stradic ci4+'s in the 3000 size.
  2. I stated in my post that only difference is the bills used. Bodies are identical!
  3. I'm aware of that! LOL
  4. I'm just saying that the body of the OG 6 is NOTHING NEW! It is the EXACT body as the DT Flat 3 & 7. Click on that link i posted above, and read other's opinions.
  5. they say OT spend LOTS OF TIME personally making the OTG 6 " in his garage"...... I call bull on this! If you have a DT Flat 7 & a OG 6, get them, and place them against each other, side by side, and beside the completely different lip design & lip material, these cranks are 100% same size/ thickness , balsa material, & weight in every possible way. I believe the OG 6 is just a DT Flat 7 with a circuit board lip attached to it. Would not be surprised one bit if I'm correct. JMHO my picture files seem to be too big to post here so I will post a link below, with pictures that i posted on another forum. http://www.***.net/showthread.php?t=1118605
  6. Actually, my opinion is that the wind doesn't "blow in the bait fish", as much as the wind disturbs the shoreline thus creating a food source, and at that time, the food chain reaction begins. From bait fish eating what the wind blown shoreline produces, to the game fish eating those baitfish.
  7. I don't tourney fish, so yes, i baby my equipment and boat. I baby my boat more than my equipment though. A 10 year old boat owned by me since new will look better than a 1 season old tourney boat!
  8. keep it simple. I carry 3 colors of jigs in my boat, that's it!
  9. heads up....ALF (*** fishing) has most Dobyns models at 15% off!
  10. Baitcasters, I own: Pflueger Patriach XT's Lews BB1 Pros BPS Carbonlite (old gold models) BPS Carbonlite 2.0's Spinning: Daiwa Tatulas Pflueger Patriarch XT's Shimano Stradic ci4's Okuma RTX's So, I'm "all over the place" when it comes to brand!? Honestly, I think, If you shop for good prices, Pflueger makes the best reel for the buck! I only paid $100 or less for all my new Pflueger Patriarch XT's, both baitcast & spinning. They retail for $250'ish, but because they fly under the radar so much ,you can find deals on them. I bought most of mine off Pflueger's website a couple years ago, when they had an awesome sale on them! Bought a couple off Ebay also. I've owned some quality Daiwa & Shimano reels, and I'd put Pflueger right up there with them!
  11. older model Falcon Bucoo "Cranker Spin" 7'0 / Daiwa Taula 3000LT
  12. depends on water clarity/structure/temp. I like a double colorado, or my favorite is a colorado/indiana alot because both provide better "lift" in shallow water than a double willow. Also, if water is murky, it also provides better flash, and you can fish it slower than a double willow because of it's better lift. One circumstance i like a double willow in shallow water is when buring a spinnerbait on flats for smallies! The double willow is a great blade configuration when wanting to burn a spinnerbait!
  13. for smallies: jerkbait (shallow & deep models) blade bait hair jig
  14. ^^^THIS^^^....slowly crawled along the bottom?
  15. I love it how alot of guys are shying away from spinnerbaits in the last several years! The bass are starting to treat them as "something new"...?
  16. post if they get back with answer?
  17. somebody got a surprise then. in the "Ask a question" on BPS & Cabelas site, about the professional Edge models, somebody asked if they are balsa wood, and the answer was "yes they are"....???
  18. The older ones had “wiggle wart” under the bill
  19. So the regulars are not, but professional edge models are?
  20. I was wondering if Bill Norman Fatboy crankbaits are made out of balsa wood. I know if I go to Cabela's website, they only carry the "Professional Edge" fat boy crankbait, and it says it is made out of balsa wood. Are the standard Fatboy crankbaits made out of balsa wood? I'm thinking the only difference between the Professional Edge and regular ones is hardware & paint job.....???
  21. My grub arsenal consists of Kalin's, Zoom Fat Alberts, and Big Bite Finesse Grubs, ranging from 3"-5" in size. i keep colors simple, Blue pearl salt/pepper, couple variations of green pumpkin, and a couple of variations of watermelon........I LOVE GRUB FISHING!
  22. I just got that 7'6" M-ML/fast action in the regular Tatula spinning rod series (model TTU761MLMFS), and was surprised how much power it really has. I would actually call this rod a medium power/XF action. I'm actually going to use it as a deep water tube rod on Lake Erie. That's how much power it has.
  23. I noticed that too?
