  1. One of my favorite reels that I used early on when I first started fishing is a Shimano Casitas which is also a graphite frame reel. I’ve never had any issues with graphite reels for targeting bass or panfish. I could see Mabye there being some issues with targeting larger fish like in the salt water and potential of bending the frame.
  2. I just bought a Lews Accell RX ($100) about 2 months ago. I’ve used it three times so far and it’s a great reel. Not sure about the durability yet, but it casts my Crankbaits like a bomb and it’s smooth. I have as well thought about switching away from Shimano once my E series and Mg reels are kaput, but we’ll see.
  3. Same on my end.
  4. I was hurting for a few days, thank the lord the site is back up!
  5. Agreed, safety is paramount.
  6. Welcome buddy!
  7. I have a Sierra 683 casting rod that I’ve used for single hook presentations, mostly using T rigs on it. I’ve had mine paired up with a curado 50e, and I’m used it for about 5 years. I’ve used this rod a ton and it’s become my go to and absolute favorite. The sensitivity is great, I will say the sensitivity on my Dobyns xtasy rod is a bit better, but that’s a higher priced point rod. It’s a light weight rod as well, I’ve fished 9 or 10 hours with it and it felt light as a feather. Durability is great, I don’t baby my equipment and it’s held up. Anymore questions about it, feel free to ask or send me a message. I haven’t used a daiwa rod so I cannot compare.
  8. Crankbaits and artificial worms as of late
  9. That’s a sweet boat! Hope it brings you a lot of fun.
  10. I agree with the following recommendations for lakes. Make sure you check out a buc ee’s, Mabye see the Alamo too!
  11. Very informative post, thank you for this! Was pretty busy working on the boat this week. Put a new three bank charger in, oil change, fuel filters, spark plugs, greased the zerk fittings, impeller change, lower unit oil. Plan for next week is to clean the bilge area and hatches of the boat plus clean the carpet. Hopefully after all that, I’ll be set for a little while 😂
  12. I checked that out the other day, I was surprised at the ton of folks who use barbasol to clean their carpet
  13. Funny you commented, I actually just watched your video a couple days ago. I’m gonna go this route once I complete some other projects on the boat. Agreed, yeah I’ve thought about leaving the carpet on for at least a couple more seasons or so. That’ll be the move for me to change to like foam or vinyl or something on those lines. But at that point, I may just purchase another boat. We will see.
  14. I use EWG with thicker soft plastics like Senkos. I use straight shank for thinner soft plastics like roboworms. I haven’t noticed any significant difference in hook ups
  15. I actually just purchased a pack last month, haven't used them yet, but excited to try it.
  16. I would recommend sight fishing. Find a area with a good amount of structure and just study the bass around. I have electronics on my boat, but to be honest I usually just use them to determine the depth I am in.
  17. 😂
  18. I’ve had 4 on my 17.5 footer, 2 adults and 2 kids. Was pretty comfortable still lol
  19. Glad to hear all is well!
  20. Hey y’all, So I’ve been doing some research lately with seeing if I should get my carpet replaced or not on my boat. I have no tears, no moldy spots, no crazy stains. There are parts of the carpet that are sunburnt though. Looking for opinions if I should look at replacing it or keep it for a while more. Thanks guys. See attachments
  21. I’m a soft plastic guy for the most part, starting to dig into Crankbaits though. I may be one of the few, but I don’t spend over 10-15 dollars for lures, if it’s any higher than that, I won’t buy it.
  22. Yeah I have a Lowrance hds gen touch 2 at the console and a garmin striker 7sv at the bow, both pretty low in drawing amps. I think that’s the route I’m gonna go for now, doesn’t make too much sense to me to blow 300 bucks on a new three bank charger if I have other free options at my disposal to remedy the issue.
  23. Per the internet, per the internet, yes. It powers 2 fish finders, which I only have 1 on at a time. That would be the only extra stuff.
